Hip Hop-eration
''Hip Hop-eration'' is a New Zealand documentary film about a dance troupe managed by communications consultant turned flash mob choreographer Billie Jordan on Waiheke Island in New Zealand. The dance troupe (called '' Hip Op-eration''), with an average age of nearly 80 among its members, decided to apply for the special exhibition category in the Las Vegas Hip Hop International championships of August 2013. The documentary documents their journey through time, space and doctor's visits. It opened theatrically in Auckland on 22 September 2014. Hip Op-eration Dance Crew (also known as Hip Op-eration) is a hip-hop dance crew from Waiheke Island, New Zealand. Hip Op-eration were formed in 2012, with originally over forty members. They are managed by their coach and caregiver Billie Jordan. In 2013, Hip Op-eration performed at the World Hip Hop Dance Championships (HHI) in Las Vegas. In their debut year, they had a documentary crew filming them and were interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and the BBC. The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) is an eleven-day film festival held in Santa Barbara, California since 1986. The festival boasts screenings of over 200 feature films and shorts from different countries and regions. SBIFF also includes celebrity tributes, industry panels and education programs. The World Hip Hop Dance Championship is an international hip-hop dance competition created in 2002 by Hip Hop International. Countries that have participated in the past include Dominican Republic, India, Greece, Cyprus, Chile, Italy, Mexico, France, Japan, Switzerland, Morocco, Philippines, United Kingdom, China, Canada, Germany, Australia, Ireland, Malaysia, Colombia, South Africa, Nigeria, New Zealand, Denmark, Spain, Russia, Portugal, Netherlands, Argentina, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Poland, Uruguay, Thailand and the United States of America.
