Cluj-Napoca Hintz House
The Mauksch–Hintz House is a historic building on the Main Square of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, which houses the first pharmacy in the city. The classicist façade dates back to the 1820s; the ground-floor and the basement however were built in the Renaissance era. A fresco from 1752 in the former office tells about the history of the pharmacy in the Hungarian language. Cluj's first pharmacy was opened in the building in the house on the Main Square (today Piaţa Unirii) in 1573 and was operated by the government. In 1727 it was sold to its first private owner, Alexander Schwartz, than to Tobias Mauksch in 1752. In 1851 it was inherited by the (Transylvanian Saxon) Hintz family and was renamed "Saint George's Pharmacy" (''La Sfântul Gheorghe''). After the establishment of Communist Romania, the whole building was nationalized, and the pharmacy was closed. The descendants of the once wealthy Hintz family migrated to West Germany in the 1970s. Andrew John Hintz (8 December 1963 – 7 February 2016) was a New Zealand first-class cricketer who played for Canterbury. Born in Christchurch Christchurch ( ; mi, Ōtautahi) is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand and the seat of the Canterbury Region. Gordon N. Hintz (born November 29, 1973) is an American public servant and Democratic politician from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was the minority leader in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 2017 through 2021. He was a member of the Assembly for eight terms, representing the 54th Assembly district from 2007 through 2022. Early life and career Hintz was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and graduated from Oshkosh North High School in 1992. Joy Alice Hintz (February 7, 1926 – April 2009) was an American writer and a community advocate for migrant workers in Ohio and a peace advocate in Central America. Hinz was inducted into the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame in 1993. Early life, education, and career Joy Alice Posey was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on February 7, 1926, and grew up in Columbus. Roope Hintz (; born 17 November 1996), nicknamed the "Ace of Spades", is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). Growing up in Finland, Hintz played within the Ilves organization before spending the 2012–13 season playing for the Tampa Bay Juniors in the Empire Junior Hockey League. He also played an early portion of the season with the Bismarck Bobcats of the North American Hockey League before returning to play for Ilves professionally in Finland. Hintz played in seven Liiga games but spent the majority of the season with Finland's U20 team.
