Varberg Municipality (''Varbergs kommun'') is a municipality in Halland County, in southwest Sweden. Its seat is in Varberg. It was formed in 1971 through the amalgamation of the ''City of Varberg'' and the surrounding rural municipalities. There are 25 original local government entities included in the municipality. 5,000 people are commuting out from the municipality, mainly to Gothenburg and Falkenberg. 3,200 people are commuting into Falkenberg. Erick Clausen Himle
Erick Clausen Himle (October 19. 1830 – March 3, 1910) was an American politician and farmer. Himle was born in Voss, Norway and moved to the United States with his family in 1850. In 1857, Himle moved to Vernon Township, Dodge County, Minnesota and was a farmer. He served as a recruiting officer in Rochester, Minnesota during the American Civil War. Himle served in the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1879 and 1880. Himle died at a hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota. Erik Himle
Erik Himle (10 April 1924 – 30 July 2008) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician for the Labour Party. Himle graduated with the cand.oecon. degree in 1948, and from the NATO Defence College in 1957. He was never elected as a politician, but worked himself upwards as a civil servant in Norwegian government ministries. During the third cabinet Gerhardsen he became state secretary to the Minister of Defense 1958–1961 and to the Minister of Transport 1962–1963. In the fourth cabinet Gerhardsen he was appointed Minister of Trade and Shipping 1963–1964 and Minister of Transport 1964–1965. His last period as a state secretary was in the Office of the Prime Minister during the first cabinet Bratteli from 1971 to 1972. He continued as the permanent under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Defence 1967–1971 and 1973–1978 and in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy 1978–1988. Thorstein Himle
Thorstein Himle (October 11, 1857 – October 18, 1925) was a Norwegian-born American missionary affiliated with the American Lutheran Hauge Synod Mission to China. Biography Thorstein Oddson Himle was born in Voss, in Hordaland county, Norway. He was attended the Voss Training College (''Voss lærerskole'') from 1873 to 1875. He then worked as a teacher until 1885. In 1885, Himle emigrated to the United States, received theological training at the Red Wing Seminary in Minnesota between 1887 and 1889 and became a Lutheran minister . Having worked as a clergyman in Taylor, Minnesota for five years he studied at the University of Minnesota during 1894-1895. In 1895, Himle traveled as a missionary to the Hauge Synod mission field for China Missions in the Hubei Province of China.
