''Hima Tharaka (Snowy Stars)'' ( si, හිම තාරකා, italic=yes) is a 2017 Sri Lankan Sinhala drama film directed by Rodney Vidanapathirana and produced by Kanthi Alahakone for RW Productions. It stars Jagath Chamila and Nadee Chandrasekara in lead roles along with Amarasiri Kalansuriya and Maureen Charuni. The film was shot around the city Moronthuduwa, Bandaragama. It is the 1280th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. In July 2020, the film was re-screened in Ananda film theater, Gampola. Jagath Chamila
Jagath Chamila Fernando ( si, ජගත් චමිල: born 6 June 1972) is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television. He made his film debut in 1992 in the Sinhalese film ''Guru Gedara'', portraying a child. In 2013, he won the award for the Best Actor at New York International Film festival for his portrayal of Sami in ''Samige Kathava'', a film based on Elmo Jayawardena's novel ''Sam's Story'' (2001). He is considered one of five actors who have dominated the Sri Lankan stage by critics. Family Chamila was born on 6 June 1972. His father, Tinil Fernando, was a school principal and his mother, Veenal Biatrice, is a housewife. He has two brothers, Ajith Tinil and Prasad Saman, and one, sister Nirosha Shayamali. Amarasiri Kalansuriya, (born 20 September 1940: si, අමරසිරි කලංසූරිය), popularly known as Kalan, is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television. Kalansuriya made his first film appearance alongside Vijaya Kumaratunga in '' Hanthana Kathawa''. His next film ''Ahas Gauwa'' won him a best actor award in 1974. He was born in Kandy, and is an alumnus of Dharmaraja College. Sri Lankan cinema encompasses the Sri Lankan film industry. It is a fledgling industry that has struggled to find a footing since its inauguration in 1947 with '' Kadawunu Poronduwa'' produced by S. Wijeratne Miyuri Samarasinghe (15 March 1939 – 6 February 2021: as si, මියුරි සමරසිංහ), popularly as Miyuri Samarasinghe, was an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theater and television.
