Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock
Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock (; 2 July 1724 – 14 March 1803) was a German poet. His best known work is the epic poem ''Der Messias'' ("The Messiah"). One of his major contributions to German literature was to open it up to exploration outside of French models. Biography Early life Klopstock was born at Quedlinburg, the eldest son of a lawyer. Both in his birthplace and on the estate of Friedeburg on the Saale, which his father later rented, he spent a happy childhood. Having been given more attention to his physical than to his mental development, he grew up strong and healthy and was considered an excellent horseman. In his thirteenth year, he returned to Quedlinburg and attended the gymnasium there, and in 1739 went on to the famous classical school named Schulpforta. Here he soon became adept in Greek and Latin versification, and wrote some meritorious idylls and odes in German. Hilma Angered Strandberg
Elisabet Kristina Hilma Angered Strandberg (June 10, 1855 in Stockholm - January 23, 1927 in Meran), was a Swedish writer. She mostly wrote under the name Hilma Strandberg of the pseudonym, "Lilian". Life She was the daughter of Justice and member of the Swedish Academy Carl Gustaf beach Berg (1825–1874) and his wife Eva Helleday (1830–1869). She attended an ordinary school in Stockholm, but later took private lessons with EM Rappe in Småland. In 1876, she completed training as a telegraph operator and worked as such from 1883 to 1888 in Fjällbacka. During that time, she wrote alleged correspondence to a newspaper at which she was later employed. In 1886, she became a co-founder of the radical feminist women's paper ''Framåt'' ('Forward') of the Gothenburg's Women's Association alongside Mathilda Hedlund and Alma Åkermark. Hilma Aparecida Caldeira (born January 5, 1972) is a retired volleyball player from Brazil who competed with the Brazil women's national volleyball team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Hilma Contreras
Hilma Contreras Castillo (December 8, 1913 – January 15, 2006) was a Dominican Republic, Dominican writer, born in San Francisco de Macorís. She was educated in Paris, France, Paris, where she studied French and English, as well as literature and archaeology. She returned to the Dominican Republic in 1933. In 1937, at the encouragement of fellow writer Juan Bosch (politician), Juan Bosch, she began writing stories, which were published in various newspapers. In 2002, she became the first woman to receive the National Literature Award. Contreras never married or had children, and died in her home town in 2006. Hilma Gabriella Jahnsson (born Hägg, 3 February 1882 Turku, died 11 June 1975) was a Finnish lawyer. Hilma af Klint (; 26 October 1862 – 21 October 1944) was a Swedish artist and mysticism, mystic whose paintings are considered among the first Abstract art, abstract works known in Western art history. A considerable body of her work predates the first purely abstract compositions by Wassily Kandinsky, Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, Malevich and Piet Mondrian, Mondrian. She belonged to a group called "The Five", comprising a circle of women inspired by Theosophy, who shared a belief in the importance of trying to contact the so-called "Masters of the Ancient Wisdom, High Masters"—often by way of séances. Hilma Swedahl, née ''Wounsch'' (2 October 1870 – 2 July 1965) was a Swedish-American gold prospector and the founder of the Swedish tourist village of ''Alaska i Strömstad''. Hilma Wounsch was born on the island of Syd-Hälsö, Strömstads kommun in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. She was the daughter of a fisher in Bohuslän. During the spring of 1896, she traveled to New York City, where she worked as a domestic. After four years, she left for Alaska and the Klondike Gold Rush. She joined a group of young people in Dawson with whom she reached the gold camp near Ruby, Alaska. She lived alone in the wilderness for fifteen years until she married John Swedahl, a gold prospector originally from Trondheim, Norway. The couple visited Sweden in 1912 and in 1928.
