Hills Road, Cambridge
Hills Road is an arterial road (part of the A1307) in southeast Cambridge, England. It runs between Regent Street at the junction with Lensfield Road and Gonville Place (the A603) to the northwest and a roundabout by the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, continuing as Babraham Road (also part of the A1307) to the southeast. On the corner with Lensfield Road is Our Lady and the English Martyrs Church. To the west of the road is the Cambridge University Botanic Garden. At this point, near the Cambridge War Memorial, Station Road leads to Cambridge railway station to the east. Near the southeast end to the west, just north of the junction with Long Road, is The Perse School, an independent school. The Cambridge Biomedical Campus is to the southwest of the roundabout at the southeastern end, at the edge of the city and houses Addenbrooke's Hospital. Laboratory Of Molecular Biology
The Medical Research Council (MRC) Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) is a research institute in Cambridge, England, involved in the revolution in molecular biology which occurred in the 1950–60s. Since then it has remained a major medical research laboratory at the forefront of scientific discovery, dedicated to improving the understanding of key biological processes at atomic, molecular and cellular levels using multidisciplinary methods, with a focus on using this knowledge to address key issues in human health. A new replacement building constructed close by to the original site on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus was opened by Her Majesty the Queen in May 2013. Station Road, Cambridge
Station Road is a road in southeast Cambridge, England.Station Area Conservation Appraisal', Quality Built Environments (QuBE), prepared for Cambridge City Council. June 2004. It leads from a junction with traffic lights on Hills Road ( A1307) to the Cambridge railway station. At the western end of Station Road on the opposite side of Hills Road is the Cambridge University Botanic Garden. Buildings The station and a war memorial at the two ends of the road are Grade II listed. The view along Station Road has a leafy appearance. There are a number of Victorian houses on the north side of the road. These have lost their gardens and been converted for commercial use. The south side of the road is main large modern buildings. St John The Evangelist Church, Cambridge
St John the Evangelist's Church is a Church of England parish church located on the junction of Hills Road and Blinco Grove in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. The previous vicar, Canon Susan Wyatt, previously of Over and Longstanton (Cambridgeshire), retired in June 2016 having come to the parish in 2006. The current priest-in-change (since June 2017) is the Revd James Shakespeare, who had served as curate at this church some years before. Cancer
Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread. Homerton College, Cambridge
Homerton College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. Its first premises were acquired in Homerton, London in 1768, by an informal gathering of Protestant dissenters with origins in the seventeenth century. In 1894, the college moved from Homerton High Street, Hackney, London, to Cambridge. Homerton was admitted as an "Approved Society" of the university in 1976, and received its Royal charter in 2010, affirming its status as a full college of the university. The college celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2018.
