Bracebridge Heath
Bracebridge Heath is a village and civil parish located approximately south of the city of Lincoln, in Lincolnshire, England. It lies at the junction of two major roads the A15 to Sleaford and the A607 to Grantham, and was (until modern systems of local government were introduced in the 19th century) part of the Boothby Graffoe Wapentake. The village sits on top of Lincoln Cliff, overlooking Lincoln and the valley of the River Witham. The population of the civil parish at the 2001 census was 4,530, increasing to 5,656 at the 2011 census. History Until 1898 Bracebridge Heath was part of the parish of Bracebridge. Bracebridge may have had its origins in the Old English ''braesc'' + ''brycg'', meaning 'bridge or causeway made of branches'. Haverhill High School (HHS) is a public high school in Haverhill, Massachusetts, United States. It is part of the Haverhill Public Schools district and is open enrollment. History At least three buildings have served as Haverhill High School. A now-demolished building designed by George M. Harding opened in 1874. Another building designed by C. Haverhill ( ) is a city in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. Haverhill is located 35 miles north of Boston on the New Hampshire border and about 17 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The population was 67,787 at the 2020 United States Census. Located on the Merrimack River, Haverhill began as a farming community of Puritans, largely from Newbury Plantation. The land was officially purchased from the Pentuckets on November 15, 1642 (One year after incorporation) for three pounds, and ten shillings. Pentucket was renamed Haverhill (after the Ward family's hometown in England) and evolved into an important industrial center, beginning with sawmills and gristmills run by water power. The Haverhill Hillies were a minor league baseball team based in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The "Hillies" teams played as members of the New England League from 1926 to 1929, finishing in last place twice. The Hillies were immediately preceded in New England League play by the 1919 Haverhill "Climbers," who were managed by Baseball Hall of Fame member Jesse Burkett. The Haverhill Hillies hosted minor league home games at the Haverhill Stadium. Today, the stadium site is still in use and has been renovated to become Trinity Stadium. Hudson River League
The Hudson River League was formed in 1903 as a class D minor baseball league after playing one season in 1886. Upgraded to Class C the next season, it continued through 1907 before collapsing. There were twelve cities that represented the league during the five-year run; eleven came from New York State and one each at various points from New Jersey and Massachusetts. The Poughkeepsie Colts became the only team to win more than one league title, taking home the league crown in 1886, 1904 and 1907. The "HR" league disbanded June 18, 1907 and did not attempt a comeback the next season. Newburgh is a city in the U.S. state of New York, within Orange County. With a population of 28,856 as of the 2020 census, it is a principal city of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown metropolitan area. Hillbilly is a term (often derogatory) for people who dwell in rural, mountainous areas in the United States, primarily in southern Appalachia and the Ozarks.
