Description Hilliard Peak is located west of the Continental Divide in the Elk Mountains (Colorado), Elk Mountains which are a subrange of the Rocky Mountains. It ranks as the 306th-highest peak in Colorado. The mountain is situated south-southwest of the community of Aspen, Colorado, Aspen and west-northwest of Castle Peak (Colorado), Castle Peak. The peak is set in the Maroon Bells–Snowmass Wilderness on land managed by White River National Forest. Precipitation runoff from the mountain's slopes drains into tributaries of the Roaring Fork River which is a tributary of the Colorado River. Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises above Conundrum Creek in and above East Maroon Creek in . Pyramid Peak (Colorado)
Pyramid Peak is a fourteen-thousand-foot mountain in the U.S. state of Colorado. It is the 47th highest mountain peak in Colorado, and 78th highest peak in the United States. It is located in the Elk Mountains in southeastern Pitkin County, approximately southwest of Aspen. The summit somewhat resembles a ragged square pyramid and is visible from the Roaring Fork River valley north of Aspen along the canyon of Maroon Creek. Like many of the peaks in the Elks, Pyramid Peak is quite steep, especially compared to more gentle fourteeners such as Mount Elbert. For example, the peak's summit rises above Crater Lake to the northwest in only , and above East Maroon Creek to the east of the peak in the same horizontal distance.
