''Hiller and Diller'' is an American sitcom that aired on ABC from September 23, 1997, to March 13, 1998. Premise Ted and Neil are two comedy writers with very different lives. A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Professional wrestling is a form of theater that revolves around staged wrestling matches. The mock combat is performed in a ring similar to the kind used in boxing, and the dramatic aspects of pro wrestling may be performed both in the ring or—as in televised wrestling shows—in backstage areas of the venue, in similar form to reality television. David Trainer is an American television director. He is perhaps best known for directing every episode of the Fox sitcom ''That '70s Show'' (except the pilot, which was directed by Terry Hughes) and directed all the episodes of the Netflix sitcom ''The Ranch''. Alex Herschlag is an American television producer, writer and stand-up comedian. He is best known for his work on the sitcom ''Will & Grace'' for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2000, as a part of the producing and writing team. He was nominated five more times, until he left the series after the seventh season. He returned to the show for the 2017 (season 9) return. Life and career Herschlag was born in The Bronx, New York and grew up in Spring Valley. He moved to Montreal, Quebec to attend McGill University where he majored in Psychology.
