Leonard Hill Films was a production company that was founded in 1981 as Hill-Mandelker Films. The company mainly specialized in made-for-television-movies, producing two television series in 1987 and a feature film in 2011. The company has since closed down following the release of ''Dorfman in Love'' in 2011. History In 1981, following the success of ''Amber Waves,'' an ABC TV movie released the previous year, ABC executive Leonard Hill got together with ''Amber Waves''’ executive producer Phillip Mandelker to form a company where they would start their own production banner. The new company was called Hill-Mandelker Films, and held a distribution deal with Novacom, Inc. (which was co-owned by Bruce Paisner and PBS affiliate WGBH in Boston and was renamed King Features Entertainment after being acquired by the Hearst Corporation in 1981). Frank Von Zerneck
Frank von Zerneck (born November 4, 1940) is an American television producer. Career Zerneck's career began as a theater producer in Los Angeles, but moved to television in 1975 in a collaboration with Robert Greenwald through Moonlight Productions, which resulted in the Emmy nominated docudrama '' 21 Hours at Munich''. They briefly partnered with former ABC employee Stu Samuels in the mid to late 1980s. In 1987 Zerneck and fellow producer Robert M. Sertner created von Zerneck/Sertner Films, a long-term venture which has resulted in nearly a hundred television films. Earth Angel
"Earth Angel", occasionally referred to as "Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine)", is a song by American doo-wop group the Penguins. Produced by Dootsie Williams, it was released as their debut single in October 1954 on Dootone Records. The Penguins had formed the year prior and recorded the song as a demo in a garage in South Central Los Angeles. The song's origins lie in multiple different sources, among them songs by Jesse Belvin, Patti Page, and the Hollywood Flames. Its authorship was the subject of a bitter legal dispute with Williams in the years following its release. Although the song was going to be overdubbed with additional instrumentation, the original demo version became an unexpected hit, quickly outstripping its A-side. Frank Konigsberg (March 10, 1933 – November 12, 2016) was an American lawyer, television producer and agent. He became the second largest shareholder of ICM Partners, and he subsequently served as the president of Telepictures. He was nominated for an Emmy nine times.
