Hilda Pinnix-Ragland
Hilda Pinnix-Ragland (born May 1955) is an American business executive and philanthropist. As the former Vice President of Corporate Public Affairs for Duke Energy, she was the first African-American woman to serve as a vice president at the company. She previously worked as the Vice President of Energy Delivery Services, Vice President of the North Region, and Vice President of Economic Development for Progress Energy Inc and was the first African-American woman to serve as a vice president. She currently serves on the board of directors for RTI International as Chair Audit & Risk Committee, in 2016, she was appointed to the 8 Rivers Capital, an energy technology company's Board and in 2020 she was appointed to the Board of Directors of Southwest Water Company. She is often the first African-American woman board member. Pinnix-Ragland also serves as the chairwoman of the board of trustees at North Carolina A&T State University. Hillsborough, North Carolina
The town of Hillsborough is the county seat of Orange County, North Carolina, United States and is located along the Eno River. The population was 6,087 in 2010, but it grew rapidly to 9,660 by 2020. Its name was unofficially shortened to "Hillsboro" during the 19th century. In the late 1960s, residents voted to change the name back to its original, historic spelling.
