Belde
Belde (literally "town", also known as ''kasaba'') means "large village with a municipality" in Turkish. All Turkish province centers and district centers have municipalities, but the villages (and also subdistricts) are usually too small to have municipalities. The population in some villages may exceed 2000 and in such villages a small municipality may be established depending on residents' choice. Such villages are called ''belde''. Up to 2014 the number of ''belde'' municipalities was about 1400. However, on 30 March 2014 by the act no. 6360 all villages (those with and without municipality) were included in the urban fabric of the district municipalities in 30 provinces. Thus ''belde'' municipalities in 30 provinces were abolished. The number of abolished ''belde'' municipalities is 1040. Uludere District
Uludere District is a district of the Şırnak Province of Turkey. In 2021, the district had a population of 44,924. The seat of the district is the town of Uludere. Its area is 841 km2. The district was formed in 1957. Population Around 90% of the district is populated by Kurds from the Goyan tribe. The Kaşuran tribe also reside in the district. Şırnak Province
Şırnak Province ( tr, Şırnak ili, ku, Parêzgeha Åžirnexê) is a province of Turkey in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Şırnak Province was created in 1990, with areas that were formerly part of the Siirt and Mardin Provinces. It borders both Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Syria. The current Governor of the province is Ali Hamza Pehlivan. As of 2013, the province had an estimated population of 475,255 people. Considered part of Turkish Kurdistan, the province has a Kurdish majority. Geography Şırnak Province has some mountainous regions in the west and the south, but the majority of the province consists of plateaus, resulting from the many rivers that cross it. Emine Kara
Emine Kara, also known by the nom de guerre Evîn Goyî, (1974 – 23 December 2022) was a Turkish Kurdish militant and political activist who served as president of the . Originally from Turkish Kurdistan, she fled to the Kurdistan Region in Iraq in 1994 after her village was massacred. She joined the Kurdish cause in 1988 and participated in the war of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) against the Islamic State in 2014. After sustaining an injury in Raqqa, she moved to Europe for medical treatment in 2020. She was killed in the 2022 Paris shooting. Biography Born in 1974 in Hilal in the Şırnak Province, Turkey, she was the fourth child out of five.
