Background and recording Lane's previous album ''All or Nothin' (Nikki Lane album), All or Nothin''' suggests a more hipster side of her musical style. Nikki Lane
Nikki Lane (born October 17, 1983) is an American country music singer-songwriter and artist. She has released four albums: ''Walk of Shame'', ''All or Nothin' (Nikki Lane album), All or Nothin''', ''Highway Queen, and Denim & Diamonds''. Early life and education Lane was born in Greenville, South Carolina, and dropped out of high school there. She then worked as a fashion designer for a time, before moving to Los Angeles in 2006 and later to New York City. After doing so, she broke up with a country musician, who left her to record an album in Alabama; this experience inspired her to begin writing country music songs. Lane, who now lives in Nashville, also owns and operates a clothing store called "High Class Hillbilly". Matthew Louis Pence (born April 13, 1972) is an American recording engineer, producer, and drummer. He owns and manages The Echo Lab studio in Denton, Texas. Early life and education Pence is from St. Louis, Missouri. In 1990, Pence moved to Denton, Texas to study jazz at University of North Texas College of Music. Christopher Alvin Stapleton (born April 15, 1978) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and grew up in Staffordsville, Kentucky. In 2001, Stapleton moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue an engineering degree from Vanderbilt University but dropped out to pursue his career in music. Michael Jason Isbell (; born February 1, 1979) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is known for his solo career, his work with the band The 400 Unit, and as a member of Drive-By Truckers for six years, from 2001 to 2007. Isbell has won four Grammy Awards. ''The Nashville Sound'' is the sixth studio album by Jason Isbell, and the third credited to "Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit" (the first since '' Here We Rest'' in 2011). It was released on June 16, 2017. The album was produced by Dave Cobb, who had produced Isbell's previous two albums: '' Southeastern'' (2013) and '' Something More Than Free'' (2015). At the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, the album won the award for Best Americana Album, and the song "If We Were Vampires" won the award for Best American Roots Song. Jonathan Tyler is an American rock band from Dallas, Texas.
