Ravenden, Arkansas
Ravenden is a town in Lawrence County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 470 at the 2010 census. The town is in the valley of the Spring River along U.S. Highway 63 and the Burlington-Northern Railroad. History The community building, still in use, was dedicated in 1960. Ray Ellis was mayor at that time. The Frisco Railroad was bought out by, and merged with, the Burlington-Northern Railroad in 1980. Geography Ravenden is located in the northwest corner of Lawrence County at (36.233972, -91.251911). U.S. Highways 62, 63, and 412 run concurrently through the north side of the town, leading northwest to Hardy and southeast to Imboden. Highway 231 (AR 231, Ark. 231, and Hwy. 231) is a designation for three north–south state highways in northeast Arkansas. All three segments serve rural, agricultural areas in the Arkansas Delta. Crowley's Ridge Parkway
Crowley's Ridge Parkway is a National Scenic Byway in northeast Arkansas and the Missouri Bootheel along Crowley's Ridge in the United States. Motorists can access the parkway from US Route 49 (US 49) at its southern terminus near the Helena Bridge over the Mississippi River outside Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, or from Missouri Route 25 (Route 25) near Kennett, Missouri. The parkway runs along Crowley's Ridge, a unique geological formation, and also parts of the St. Francis National Forest, the Mississippi River and the Mississippi Alluvial Plain. The Arkansas Highway System is made up of all the highways designated as Interstates, U.S. Highways and State Highways in the US state of Arkansas. Highway 141 (AR 141 and Hwy. 141) is designation for two north–south state highways in Northeast Arkansas. The longer segment was created in 1931 and extended throughout the mid-20th century to the current alignment connecting Jonesboro and points north. The Jonesboro segment was a former city street added to the state highway system in 1973. Both are maintained by the Arkansas Department of Transportation. As a part of these responsibilities, the department tracks the volume of traffic using its roads in surveys using a metric called average annual daily traffic (AADT). Highway 135 (AR 135, Ark. 135, Hwy. 135) is a north–south state highway in northeast Arkansas. The route of runs from Interstate 555 (I-555) near Tyronza north through Paragould to US 62. Route description AR 135 begins at Interstate 555 south of Tyronza and runs north to intersect AR 118 before meeting AR 14/ AR 140 in Lepanto. The route continues north to Caraway, where it meets concurs with AR 158. The concurrency ends in Black Oak, when AR 135 begins to arrow west with AR 18. The route leaves AR 18 in Lake City, after which it angles north to Paragould. In Paragould, AR 135 meets US 412 and US 49/ AR 1 before exiting town headed north. O'Kean, Arkansas
O'Kean is a town in Randolph County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 192 at the 2020 census. History O’Kean was settled before the Civil War, and is named for the priest of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Father James O’Kean, who frequently stopped in the community en route to nearby Pocahontas. With the construction of the St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railway in the 1870s, O’Kean expanded rapidly. A railroad tie manufacturing operation was among the businesses established in the city during the period. O’Kean incorporated in 1913. Geography O'Kean is bordered by Greene County to the east, and one mile north of Lawrence County.
