Highway 300 (AR 300, Ark. 300 and Hwy. 300) is a designation for two state highway segments in Central Arkansas. The main route of runs from Highway 9/ Highway 10 east to Cantrell Road and Chenal Parkway in Little Rock. A second segment runs east from Interstate 430 as Colonel Glenn Road. Route description Perryville to Little Rock The main route begins at Highway 9/ Highway 10 south of Perryville and runs east along the northern edge of the Harris Brake Wildlife Management Area. Highway 300 forms a quasi- concurrencyHistorically, this segment of Highway 300 ran continuously. However, modern-day Arkansas Department of Transportation guidelines has eliminated most state highway concurrencies, and sectioning has become the rule. Perryville, Arkansas
Perryville is a city in and the county seat of Perry County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,460 at the 2010 census, an increase of just two persons from 2000. It is part of the Little Rock– North Little Rock– Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The first Perry County courthouse was built in Perryville in 1841, a year after Perry County was created, and five years after the state of Arkansas was created. The town was platted sometime before 1850. John Rison and his new wife, Harriet, moved to Perryville in 1844 and started the community's first church, a Methodist congregation. Their log home became a community gathering place and is now the oldest building in Perryville. In 1849, Rison bought six lots across from his home to build a log store and a schoolhouse. Natural Steps is an unincorporated area, unincorporated census-designated place in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. Pinnacle Mountain State Park is a 2,356-acre state park located in Pulaski County, Arkansas just outside of Little Rock. The main attraction is Pinnacle Mountain, an iconic landmark surrounded by the bottomlands of the Big Maumelle and Little Maumelle rivers. History The first people to settle the area referred to Pinnacle Mountain as "Mamelle", the French name for a breast-shaped hill. "Mamelle" eventually became "Maumelle", which is the name used for the Big Maumelle and Little Maumelle rivers, as well as the nearby city of Maumelle. A trip to Pinnacle Mountain was a popular activity in the 1800s. Ouachita National Recreation Trail
Ouachita National Recreation Trail is a long, continuous hiking trail through the Ouachita Mountains of Oklahoma and Arkansas. It is the longest backpacking trail in the Ouachita National Forest, spanning 192 miles across its length.
