High Voltage (song)
"High Voltage" is a song by Australian hard rock band AC/DC. It was first released in Australia as a single in July 1975, though it is the eighth track of their second Australian album '' T.N.T''., the release itself was issued as a stand alone single. The song was written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young and Bon Scott, and peaked at #48 on the UK Singles Chart in 1980. In January 2018, as part of Triple M's "Ozzest 100", the 'most Australian' songs of all time, "High Voltage" was ranked number 95. Background "High Voltage" shares its name with the band's first Australian and international albums. It is the ninth and final track on the international version, released in May 1976. "High Voltage" was also released as a single in the UK and various countries in Europe in 1976. It was originally conceived to mark what would have been the 50th birthday of Bon Scott, the band's previous lead vocalist who died of alcohol-related misadventure in 1980. The release includes the two disc soundtrack for the film ''Let There Be Rock'', a live recording from the Atlantic Records studio in New York, some previously unreleased early material and a remastered version of the 1980 ''Back in Black'' album. Brian Johnson
Brian Johnson (born 5 October 1947) is an English singer and songwriter. In 1980, after the death of Bon Scott, he became the third lead singer of the Australian rock band AC/DC. He and the rest of the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. In March 2016, he temporarily stepped away from the band during the Rock or Bust World Tour due to hearing problems. Their first international release in 1976 would also be named ''High Voltage'', though with a radically different track list. Background In November 1973, guitarists Malcolm Young and Angus Young formed AC/DC and recruited bassist Larry Van Kriedt, vocalist Dave Evans, and Colin Burgess, ex- Masters Apprentices drummer. Tony Currenti (born 26 June 1951) is an Australian drummer of Italian descent, best known as a session drummer for Australian hard rock band AC/DC (1975 debut album ''High Voltage'', the "High Voltage" single, and 1984 album '' '74 Jailbreak'') and various Vanda & Young projects – including Stevie Wright (international hit "Evie") and John Paul Young (hit singles "Yesterday's Hero" and "I Hate the Music"). Early life Currenti originally comes from the Italian island of Sicily, where he was born on 26 June 1951.
