Jason Lehning (born April 14, 1972) is an American producer, composer, musician and mixer/engineer living in Nashville, Tennessee. Biography Early life Jason Lehning was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee in a musical family. The son of producer Kyle Lehning, Jason was exposed to the recording process at an early age. After attending high school in Tennessee and graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Lehning returned to Nashville to begin work as an engineer. Production/writing career Lehning's earliest work was as an assistant engineer in several Nashville studios. He was allowed access to studios on down-time to invite artists to record. His early demos with artist David Mead resulted in a record deal for the singer and Lehning's first major label job as a producer. ''Starry Gazey Pie'' is the 2004 debut album from the Silver Seas. Its original cover reflected the band's previous name, the Bees (U.S.), but unlike their second album, ''High Society'' (2006), ''Starry Gazey Pie'' wasn't reissued on Cheap Lullaby Records in 2007. However, on iTunes and Amazon.com the band's current name replaces the previous one on the MP3 version of the album. ''Château Revenge!'' is the third album by the Silver Seas. It was self-released by the band in North America in 2010 and, through a distribution deal with the Lights Label/EMI, in Europe the following year. "The idea was to make a soundtrack to learning about the world of adult emotions, or romance, through the prism of television and movies," said Silver Seas frontman Daniel Tashian in a press release. "So I thought, 'Château Revenge!' It sounds like a movie I would have loved as a kid, and it would be a story of guy meets girl, guy meets bully, bully gets girl, guy fights bully, bully loses, guy gets girl back. But I lost track somewhere in the middle and it became more autobiographical. Sort of a composite of my own failed relationships, which are where you really learn. And it has some redemption in the end, and resolution, the way a real Hollywood ending should be."
