High School (1954 Film)
''High School'' ( it, Terza liceo) is a 1954 Italian coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Luciano Emmer. Plot Last year of school for the III C of the Gobetti high school in Rome: the events of the boys and girls who have to face the final exams are intertwined with more or less happy loves, shy disputes and small dramas. Lucia, scion of a rich family, but with a generous and rebellious soul, shares with Andrea, who instead comes from a family of modest conditions, the project for a school newspaper. The contents of the file put them in collision with the principal, but they unite the two youngsters, who eventually fall in love. Their relationship, however, is opposed by Lucia's family, who want her to be paired with the stolid but rich Pupo. Luciano Emmer
Luciano Emmer (19 January 1918 – 16 September 2009) was an Italian film director. He was born in Milan, but most of his childhood lived in Venice. He started as filmmaker at filming Giotto's frescoes in Padua in 1938. Screenwriter Sergio Amidei, found the finance for Emmer to make a feature about Romans spending a Sunday in August on the beach at Ostia. He won a Golden Globe in 1951 for '' Pictura: An Adventure in Art''. He has directed more documentaries than fiction pictures, most notably ''Domenica d'agosto'' and the romance-comedy-drama ''Three Girls from Rome''. Luciano Emmer started his career as a filmmaker working with Enrico Gras. He founded the production company Dolomiti Film and directed several documentaries. Paola Borboni
Paola Borboni (1 January 1900 – 9 April 1995) was an Italian stage and film actress whose career spanned nine decades of cinema. Early life Borboni was born on 1 January 1900 in Parma, Italy. Career Borboni made her stage debut in 1916, beginning to take minor film roles soon afterwards. She entered film in 1916 in the silent picture ''Jacobo Ortis'' directed by Giuseppe Sterni, and made over 80 film appearances between then and 1990. Appearing in several silent films before 1921 she was absent from cinema for some 14 years during which time she made numerous stage appearances. She gained notoriety in 1925 when she appeared topless in a stage performance of Carlo Veneziani’s ''Alga Marina'' as a mermaid, exposing her breasts. Valeria Moriconi (''née'' Abbruzzetti; November 15, 1931 – June 15, 2005) was an Italian actress who appeared both in movies and on stage. Biography Valeria was born in Iesi, in Marche, central Italy. Her earliest work was as a stage actress. Giuliano Montaldo (born 22 February 1930) is an Italian film director. Biography While he was still a young student, Montaldo was recruited by the director Carlo Lizzani for the role of leading actor in the film ''Achtung! Banditi!'' (1951). Following this experience he began an apprenticeship as an assistant director of Lizzani and Gillo Pontecorvo, as well as appearing in the 1955 ''Gli Sbandati''. In 1960 he made his debut as a director with ''Tiro al piccione'', a film about the partisan resistance, which entered for a competition in Venice Film Festival in 1961.
