Issaquah ( ) is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 40,051 at the 2020 census. Located in a valley and bisected by Interstate 90, the city is bordered by the Sammamish Plateau to the north and the "Issaquah Alps" to the south. History "Issaquah" is an anglicized word for a local Native American name, meaning either "the sound of birds", "snake", or "little stream". Tent City 4
Tent City 4 is a homeless encampment of up to 100 persons operated by homeless residents and sponsored by 501(c)(3) organizations Seattle Housing and Resources Effort (SHARE) and Women's Housing Equality and Enhancement League (WHEEL). The camp was created in May 2004 and limits itself to places of worship in eastern King County outside of Seattle. Minors are not allowed in Tent City 4, although there is a provision for emergency situations. Residents may use their own tents or community tents that are segregated by gender. Dumpsters, portable toilets and a shower, paid for by SHARE, are provided to address sanitation concerns. In order to control access to the encampment, there is only one entry/exit to the camp that is guarded at all times. Tiger Mountain State Forest
Tiger Mountain is a mountain in the U.S. state of Washington. It is at the center of the Issaquah Alps, a small range in the Eastside region of King County, Washington southeast of Seattle. The mountain is part of a designated protected area, the Tiger Mountain State Forest, and has several recreational areas used for hiking, mountain biking, and paragliding. Tradition Lake
Tradition Lake is located at the base of Tiger Mountain (Washington), Tiger Mountain in Issaquah, Washington. There is a popular interpretive trail around the lake. Geography Tradition Lake is located on the northwestern edge of Tiger Mountain, one of the Issaquah Alps. The lake and surrounding wetlands are part of the West Tiger Mountain Natural Resources Conservation Area, managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. The lake drains the slopes of the mountain through several streams. However, it has no outlet streams and instead drains into the aquifer. The city of Issaquah once used the lake for drinking water, and remnants of this infrastructure are still visible along Interstate 90 in Washington, I-90.
