The 1990 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships were contested May 30−June 2 at Wallace Wade Stadium at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina in order to determine the individual and team national champions of men's and women's collegiate Division I outdoor track and field events in the United States. These were the 68th annual men's championships and the ninth annual women's championships. This was the Blue Devils' first time hosting the event. For the second consecutive year, LSU topped both the men's and women's standings; it was the LSU men's team's third team title and the fourth consecutive, as well as fourth overall, for the Lady Tigers. This would go on to be the fourth of LSU's eleven consecutive women's national championships in track and field between 1987 and 1997. Kajsa Margareta Bergqvist (; born 12 October 1976 in Sollentuna, Stockholm) is a Swedish former high jumper. She won one bronze medal in the Olympic Games, one gold and two bronze medals in the World Championships in Athletics and one gold and one bronze in the European Championships. Her personal outdoor record of 2.06 m, set in Germany in 2003, is also a Swedish record. Her indoor record of 2.08 m, set at the Hochsprung mit Musik meeting in 2006, is the world indoor record. Biography Career Bergqvist was born up in Sollentuna Municipality in Stockholm County. Her interest in sport began when she was 6 years old and tried sports such as football, volleyball, badminton, swimming, and cross-country skiing, none of which was able to keep her interest. Amy Acuff
Amelia Lyn "Amy" Acuff (born July 14, 1975) is a track and field athlete from the United States. A high jump specialist, she competed in the 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games as a member of USA Track and Field. Her best Olympic performance came at the 2004 Games, where her jump of 1.99 m earned her fourth place in the final. Biography Born in Port Arthur, Texas, she established herself domestically with wins at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 1995 and 1997. At the age of 22, she became the Universiade champion, edging out Monica Iagăr in the 1997 high jump final. Acuff was the winner of the 1998 Hochsprung mit Musik meeting in Arnstadt, Germany, becoming the first non-European winner in the history of the event.
