High Dive Records is an independent record label based in Kansas City, Missouri. It was founded in January 2013 by Jeff McCoy in order to release The ACBs album "Little Leaves" and has expanded to include acts from the greater Kansas City area as well as Lawrence, Kansas. Independent Record Label
An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding or distribution of major record labels; they are a type of small- to medium-sized enterprise, or SME. The labels and artists are often represented by trade associations in their country or region, which in turn are represented by the international trade body, the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). Many of the labels started as producers and distributors of specific genres of music, such as jazz music, or represent something new and non-mainstream, such as Elvis Presley in the early days. Indies release rock, soul, R&B, jazz, blues, gospel, reggae, hip hop, and world music. Music appearing on indie labels is often referred to as indie music, or more specifically by genre, such as indie hip-hop. Ebony Tusks (band)
Ebony is a dense black/brown hardwood, coming from several species in the genus ''Diospyros'', which also contains the persimmons. Unlike most woods, ebony is dense enough to sink in water. It is finely textured and has a mirror finish when polished, making it valuable as an ornamental wood. The word ''ebony'' comes from the Ancient Egyptian ', through the Ancient Greek ('), into Latin and Middle English. Species Species of ebony include ''Diospyros ebenum'' (Ceylon ebony), native to southern India and Sri Lanka; '' D. crassiflora'' (Gabon ebony), native to western Africa; and '' D. celebica'' (Sulawesi ebony), native to Indonesia and prized for its luxuriant, multi-colored wood grain. Snacky (band)
{{Short description, Finnish fast food chain Snacky was a small Finnish fast food chain operating in the Helsinki capital area. Founded in 1980, the chain was operating until 1995, and then again under a new owner from 2007 to 2015. As the chain went bankrupt, its owner was sentenced to jail for severe financial crimes. In 2021 Snacky returned again, now as a virtual restaurant, where Snacky products can be bought through Foodora and Wolt. Snacky does not have its own restaurant premises. History The Snacky hamburger restaurant chain was first operational from 1980 to 1995. The first Snacky restaurant was founded in Itäkeskus, Helsinki in 1980. The restaurant was founded by the Hämeenheimo family. The chain had a total of 14 double-laned automobile grill restaurants. Shy Boys
Shy Boys are an American indie-pop band from Kansas City, Missouri, United States. The line-up consists of brothers Collin Rausch and Kyle Rausch, Konnor Ervin, Kyle Little, and Ross Brown. Band history Early years The group formed shortly after the trio became roommates in 2012. Kyle Rausch and Ervin were already bandmates in the indie-pop band The ACBs and Collin had been playing for years in the Kansas City area in various bands. The three shared a love for 1960s era pop rock and soon started writing their own music. Later years In 2014 they released the self-titled ''Shy Boys'' on High Dive Records. The album received generally positive reviews, and the single "Bully Fight" was featured on Spin.com. In June 2014 the band recorded and released two more singles and one of them, "Life Is Peachy," was featured on Stereogum. Sex is the trait that determines whether a sexually reproducing animal or plant produces male or female gametes.
