Hidenori Matsubara
is a Japanese anime character designer and director. Biography In 1988, Matsubara joined Gainax. In 1996, after finishing the ''Neon Genesis Evangelion'' series, he left Gainax and worked as a freelancer for various TV series and OVAs. He was the character designer and animation director on the 1995 OVA series ''Oh My Goddess!'' which had five episodes, and then its feature film '' Oh My Goddess! The Movie'' in 2000. He would then reprise his role as character designer for the 2005 TV series which ran for 2 seasons. He did the character design for the ''Sakura Wars'' anime television series in 2000, and for its various OVA location-based sequels including Paris and New York. In 2003, he provided the character design for the anime television series '' Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo'', where he was noted for his art style full of lavish patterns instead of solid colors. Nanto, Toyama
is a city in Toyama Prefecture, Japan. It is in a mountainous area in the south-west corner of the prefecture just north of Gifu Prefecture. Anime USA (AUSA) is an annual three-day anime convention held during October/November at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. Programming The convention typically features an AMV contest, artist's alley, cosplay contest, dealer's room, host club/maid cafe, LARP, musical performances, tabletop gaming, video rooms, and workshop rooms. History The Northern Virginia Anime Association first organized the convention. Anime USA moved from the Sheraton Premiere in Tyson's Corner to the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in 2007, a location previously used by Katsucon and Otakon, due to the convention's growth. Renovations and the Hyatt Regency Crystal City layout caused problems during the 2008 convention. The School of Paris (french: École de Paris) refers to the French and émigré artists who worked in Paris in the first half of the 20th century. The School of Paris was not a single art movement or institution, but refers to the importance of Paris as a center of Western art in the early decades of the 20th century.
