Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is a public law school and a National Law University in New Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. The University is named after the former Chief Justice of India, Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah. It is one of the autonomous law schools in India and being sixth in the series of such national law schools. It was established as a centre for legal excellence by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh, Act (Act No.10 of 2003). The university offers a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) integrated Programme, an L.L.M. Programme, and PhD Course. It is a residential university and is affiliated to and receives central assistance from the University Grants Commission and is recognised by the Bar Council of India. National Law University
National Law Universities (NLU) are public law schools in India, founded pursuant to the second-generation reforms for legal education sought to be implemented by the Bar Council of India. The first NLU was the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), located at Bangalore, which admitted its first batch in 1988. Since then, most of the states in India have established a NLU. Currently there are 25 NLUs across the country. Common Law Admission Test
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralized national level entrance test for admissions to twenty two National Law Universities (NLU) in India. Most private and self-financed law schools in India also use these scores for law admissions. Public sector undertakings in India like ONGC, Coal India, BHEL, Steel Authority of India, Oil India etc. use CLAT Post Graduation ( CLAT PG) scores for recruitment of legal positions in the companies. The test is taken after the Higher Secondary Examination or the 12th grade for admission to integrated under-graduate degree in Law (BA LLB) and after Graduation in Law for Master of Laws (LL.M) programs offered by these law schools. Arun Kumar Mishra (born 3 September 1955) is the current and eighth Chairperson of National Human Rights Commission of India. He is the former Judge of Supreme Court of India. He is former Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court and Rajasthan High Court. He has also served as Acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court. He is also former Judge of Madhya Pradesh High Court. The ''Economic and Political Weekly'' (''EPW'') is a weekly peer-reviewed academic journal covering all social sciences, and is published by the Sameeksha Trust. In January 2018, academic Gopal Guru was named the new Editor of the journal. Guru will be Editor for a period of five years. The previous full-time editor was Paranjoy Guha Thakurta. The Trust had earlier appointed Guha Thakurta as the new editor of the journal with effect from 1 April 2016. His appointment came at a time when many social scientists were opposing the supposed removal of the previous editor C.
