James Edward "JJ" Hickson Jr. (born September 4, 1988) is an American former professional basketball player. He played one season of college basketball for North Carolina State University before being drafted 19th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2008 NBA draft. He played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers, as well as in Israel for Bnei Herzliya, Bnei HaSharon during the 2011 NBA lockout. Catherine Hickson
Catherine Hickson (born 1955) is a Canadian volcanologist, formerly with the Geological Survey of Canada, part of Natural Resources Canada. Since 2014, she has been the chief operating officer for Dajin Resources Corp. and president, Tuya Terra Geo Corp. Hickson studied at the University of British Columbia and received her PhD in geology and volcanology in 1987. Career and research Education and early career Hickson grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. During her childhood, family trips to Banff National Park, the Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone National Park exposed her to the natural world, including to geysers and volcanoes. Irene Hickson (August 14, 1915 – November 24, 1995) was an American catcher who played from through in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Listed at , 116 lb., she batted and threw right-handed. At age 27, Irene Hickson became one of the oldest players signed by the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League for its inaugural season. Although averaging .171 lifetime, she was known as an opportune hitter with runners in scoring position during the late innings. Most importantly, Hickson was a solid fielding catcher with a strong throwing arm, and had a reputation as a good handler of pitchers. Michael Hickson, aged 46, died on June 11, 2020, after being denied care for COVID-19 by doctors at South Austin Medical Center over his wife's objections. Hickson was a quadriplegic.
