Aldro Hibbard
Aldro Thompson Hibbard (August 25, 1886 – November 12, 1972) was an American plein air painter known for his depictions of snowy landscapes, particularly of Vermont. Hibbard worked in oil, as watercolor couldn't be used in January and February in the mountains of Vermont. He lived most of his life in Rockport, Massachusetts. Early life Hibbard was born in Falmouth, Massachusetts to James Thompson Hibbard and to the former Katherine Swift. Hibbard's father sold sewing machines and his mother was a homemaker who had a fondness of nature and spiritualism. He had one older sister, Adeline. Hibbard was raised in the Boston suburbs of Roxbury and Dorchester and graduated from Dorchester High School in 1906. Hibbard was captain of the baseball team at Dorchester High School. As a young man, he often spent summers visiting family in Falmouth, and in 1911, 1913, 1915, and 1916, he played baseball for the "Cottage Club", Falmouth's town team in what is now the Cape Cod Baseball League. ... Hall Livingstone Hibbard (July 26, 1903 – June 6, 1996) was an engineer and administrator of the Lockheed Corporation beginning with the company's purchase by a board of investors led by Robert E. Gross in 1932. Born in Kansas, he received a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics at the College of Emporia in 1925. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology two years later. He worked for Stearman as a draftsman, before joining Robert Gross' Viking Flying Boat Company. He served on the board of the newly revived Lockheed Corporation and led the design departments as chief engineer. Richard Hibbard (born 13 December 1983) is a Wales international rugby player currently playing for the Dragons. Hibbard was born in Neath, Wales. He’s married with 3 children. A hooker, he started playing rugby at age grade levels at clubs in the town of Port Talbot, including Aberavon Quins RFC and Taibach RFC. A former pupil of Glan Afan Comprehensive School, he went on to play at senior level for Taibach, Aberavon RFC and Swansea before making his name at the Ospreys. James H. Hibbard (born October 19, 1981 in Palo Alto, California) is an American road racing cyclist who competed for the Shaklee and Health Net-Maxxis professional cycling Teams. He started racing at the Hellyer Park Velodrome in San Jose, California in 1995, and competed through 2005. Hibbard was the Northern California/ Nevada State Track Cycling Champion at the junior and elite levels, and earned medals at the United States National Track Cycling Championships from 1996–1999 and again in 2001 and 2003. As a member of the United States National Team, he was a bronze medalist at Trinidad and Tobago's Southern Games. Although a member of several UCI professional road cycling teams, Hibbard competed primarily as track cyclist. Hibbard has been vocal in his support of drug-free sport. He graduated from Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire in 1835 where he studied law. After graduation, he was admitted to the bar in 1838 and commenced practice in Bath, Grafton County, New Hampshire. Career Hibbard was an assistant clerk and clerk of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1840 to 1842. He served as an elected member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1843 to 1845 and Speaker in 1844 and 1845.
