Hi (album)
''Hi'' is the tenth studio album by Scottish alternative rock band Texas, released on 28 May 2021 through BMG. ''Hi'' was originally intended to be based on "lost" outtakes from the recording sessions of their 1997 chart-topping ''White on Blonde'' album, but this was eventually shelved and ultimately led the band to create new material. Background and recording During promotion for the album, lead singer Sharleen Spiteri stated: "Our excitement at finding this treasure trove of songs collided with our excitement back then and, unplanned, new songs started coming, you could say we were inspired by ourselves!" Other songs on the album include "Dark Fire", written with Richard Hawley, and "Look What You've Done", a duet between Spiteri and Clare Grogan of Altered Images. Texas (band)
Texas are a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow. They were founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone (formerly of the bands Altered Images and Hipsway) and Sharleen Spiteri on lead vocals. Texas made their performing debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee. They took their name from the 1984 Wim Wenders movie ''Paris, Texas (film), Paris, Texas''. The band released their debut album ''Southside (Texas album), Southside'' in 1989, along with the debut single "I Don't Want a Lover", which was a top-ten hit on the UK Singles Chart and peaked within the top ten of the charts in many other European countries. ''Southside'' entered at number three on the UK Albums Chart and number 88 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 album chart in the United States, and sold over two million copies worldwide. Clare Grogan
Claire Patricia Grogan (born 17 March 1962), known professionally as Clare Grogan or sometimes as C. P. Grogan, is a Scottish actress and singer. She is best known as the lead singer of the 1980s new wave music group Altered Images, as well as for supporting roles in the 1981 film ''Gregory's Girl'' and the science fiction sitcom ''Red Dwarf'', as the first incarnation of Kristine Kochanski. Early life Born in Glasgow, Grogan and her two sisters all attended the Notre Dame Convent School. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. The ''i'' is a British national morning paper published in London by Daily Mail and General Trust and distributed across the United Kingdom.
