Compulsion (band)
Compulsion were an Irish punk band. They were formed in 1990 by Josephmary (singer) and Sid Rainey (bassist) as Thee Amazing Colossal Men. They signed a recording contract with Virgin Records, but after winning a lawsuit against their record label, they became 'Compulsion' in 1992. Joined by guitarist Garret Lee and drummer Jan-Willem Alkema, they moved to North London and signed to One Little Indian. They released several EPs and two albums. The first, ''Comforter'', was labeled by the ''NME'' as part of the "New Wave of New Wave", while the second, ''The Future is Medium'', saw them sport identical black outfits and orange hairdos. The group split in 1997 after the label One Little Indian dropped them. After Compulsion, Lee formed Jacknife Lee, and later produced Snow Patrol and U2. Ian Caple
Ian Caple is an English recording engineer, record producer, programmer and mixer. History Caple's career began at EMI Music in 1979. After training at Abbey Road Studios, he became an engineer at EMI's KPM studios in Denmark Street London. He worked with Shriekback on their early albums at KPM as well as Kate Bush Simple Minds and Adam & The Ants. He left in 1984 to work as a freelance engineer/producer/programmer and mixer. Garret Lee
Garret "Jacknife" Lee is an Irish music producer and mixer. He has worked with a variety of artists, including the Cars, U2, R.E.M., the Killers, Robbie Williams, Snow Patrol, Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club, AFI (band), AFI, the Hives, Weezer, One Direction, Silversun Pickups, Editors (band), Editors, Modest Mouse, Lonnie Holley, and Taylor Swift. Sid Rainey
Sid Rainey (born in 1968 in Sligo, Ireland) is an Irish musician and television producer known for Underground Ernie and his work as a musician and comedy writer. Compulsion Rainey first came to prominence as the bass player for Irish punk band Compulsion in 1990. Television production Sid Rainey has been involved in film and television in the U.K. for almost fifteen years creating animated children's television, comedy panel quiz shows, sit-coms, talk-based music interview shows, feature films and short films. He co-created and executive produced the hit cartoon series ''Underground Ernie'' which was broadcast on the BBC and in various territories around the world.
