Hi-5 (series 12)
The twelfth series of the children's television series '' Hi-5'' aired between 13 September 2010 and 12 November 2010 on the Nine Network in Australia. The series was produced by Southern Star and Nine with Noel Price as executive producer. The series featured the 500th episode. Production Following the Nine Network and Southern Star's acquisition of the Hi-5 franchise in 2008, a deal was made to produce five new series of the programme featuring the "new generation" cast. Southern Star produced the first of these five series in 2009, and begun production of the second in 2010. Noel Price returned as the executive producer for his second series, continuing the goal of capturing the innocence and magic of the program's earlier episodes. All five cast members, Lauren Brant, Casey Burgess, Fely Irvine, Tim Maddren and Stevie Nicholson, returned for the twelfth series. The twelfth series premiered on 13 September 2010. Lauren Brant
Lauren Marie Brant-Hall (born 24 February 1989) is a South African-Australian television personality and actress. Brant is a former member of the Australian children's musical group Hi-5. Early life Brant was born in South Africa and moved with her family to Australia's Gold Coast shortly after birth. She began singing, dancing, acting and modelling at the age of three. Career Brant began her career as an actress with various roles in Australian television. In 2007, Brant appeared on '' H2O: Just Add Water''. She also featured on ''The Strip'', ''Mortified'', ''The Starter Wife'' and ''Are We There Yet?'' She also featured in various theatre productions and the travelling ''Humphrey Bear'' show in 2007. The 53rd Annual TV Week Logie Awards was held on Sunday 1 May 2011 at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne, and broadcast on the Nine Network. The ceremony was hosted by Shane Bourne, while the red carpet arrivals was hosted by Shelley Craft, Livinia Nixon, James Mathison and Jules Lund. The Logie Awards (officially the TV Week Logie Awards; colloquially known as The Logies) is an annual gathering to celebrate Australian television, sponsored and organised by the magazine ''TV Week''. The first ceremony was held in 1959 as the TV Week Awards. Awards are presented in twenty categories, representing both public and industry voted prizes. High Striker
A high striker, also known as a strength tester, or strongman game, is an attraction used in funfairs, amusement parks, fundraisers, and carnivals. It operates by utilizing the lever where one end holds a puck attached to the tower and the other end is struck by the person or contestant using a hammer or mallet. The aim of players is to ring the bell suspended on top of the tower. If the lever is struck with enough force, the puck will rise high enough to hit the bell, indicating a success. Makaton
Makaton is a communication tool together with speech and symbols, to enable people with disabilities or learning disabilities to communicate. It is not a British Sign Language (BSL) or any form of Sign Language in its own right. Ten-pin bowling is a type of bowling in which a bowler rolls a bowling ball down a wood or synthetic lane toward ten pins positioned evenly in four rows in an equilateral triangle. The objective is to knock down all ten pins on the first roll of the ball (a strike), or failing that, on the second roll (a spare). Bungee Trampoline
A bungee trampoline (also known as a bungy trampoline or just trampoline) is an attraction at many fairs, vacation resorts and several summer camps. There are many different designs of bungee trampolines, but most operate in the same fashion. The participant puts on a bungee trampoline harness and is then hooked to several bungee ropes. Those ropes are attached to poles or bars reaching an average of fifteen feet above the trampoline platform. Corncob
A corncob, also called corn cob, cob of corn or corn on the cob, is the central core of an ear of corn (also known as maize). It is the part of the ear on which the kernels grow. The ear is also considered a "cob" or "pole" but it is not fully a "pole" until the ear is shucked, or removed from the plant material around the ear.
