	Brett Hextall Brett Hextall (born April 2, 1988) is an Americans, American-born Canadians, Canadian former professional ice hockey player and current coach, who played four seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Portland Pirates and Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Playing career Hextall was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes, Phoenix Coyotes in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. In April 2011, the Coyotes signed Hextall to an entry level contract. He played the next three seasons for the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes' AHL affiliate. Following the 2013–14 season, the Coyotes did not make a qualifying offer to Hextall, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. On August 25, 2014, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms signed Hextall to a one-year AHL contract. He retired following the season. 	Bryan Hextall Bryan Aldwyn Hextall (July 31, 1913 – July 25, 1984) was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played for the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Considered one of the top wingers of the 1940s, he led the NHL in goal scoring twice and in points once. Additionally, he was named a first-team All-Star three times, and a second-team All-Star once. Hextall scored the overtime winning goal that clinched the 1940 Stanley Cup for the Rangers. He is the father of one of hockey's greatest families, as his sons Bryan Jr. and Dennis, and grandson Ron all had lengthy NHL careers. Bryan Sr. was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1969. 	Dennis Hextall Dennis Hextall (born April 17, 1943) is a former professional hockey forward who spent most of his career with the Minnesota North Stars and Detroit Red Wings. He is the son of Bryan Hextall, brother of Bryan Hextall Jr., uncle of Ron Hextall and sportscaster Leah Hextall, and great-uncle of AHL player Brett Hextall. Personal Hextall was born in Poplar Point, a community 33 km northeast of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, in 1943. Hextall played 13 seasons for the Philadelphia Flyers, Quebec Nordiques, and New York Islanders. He served as assistant general manager for the Flyers for one season, and was promoted to general manager of the Philadelphia Flyers, replacing Paul Holmgren on May 7, 2014.
