	Christopher Hewetson Christopher Hewetson (c.1737–1798) was a neoclassical sculptor of portrait busts. Born in Ireland, he was active in Rome. Biography Hewetson was born in Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland, in 1737/8 the son of Lieutenant Christopher Hewetson whose ancestry was from Yorkshire. His father died in 1744 when Christopher was only 7, leaving his mother Eleanor with four young children to raise. He studied at Kilkenny College, where his uncle the Rev. Dr Thomas Hewetson was headmaster, and in Dublin under John van Nost the younger. In 1765 he arrived in Rome with the American painter Henry Benbridge. He remained in Rome for the remainder of his life with the exception of two brief visits to Naples in 1766 and 1797. With the assistance of Thomas Jenkins, Hewetson received commissions from numerous British and Irishmen visiting Rome on the Grand Tour. He also sculpted busts of a number of local churchmen. 	Edward Hewetson Edward Pearson Hewetson (27 May 1902 – 26 December 1977) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket between 1919 and 1934 for Oxford University and Warwickshire. A right-arm fast bowler and right-handed batsman, Hewetson took 163 wickets in his career, and scored 1,213 runs at a batting average of 14.44. He played twenty-nine matches for Warwickshire between 1919 and 1927, joining Oxford in 1922 and playing there until 1925. He played for Harlequins Cricket Club until 1927, and then for the Free Foresters Cricket Club until 1934. 	James Hewetson James Hewetson (c. 1797–1870) was a Texas ''empresario''. Early life Hewetson was born in Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland in 1797, the son of Patrick and Honora (née Hoyne). After studying medicine, Hewitson emigrated to the United States. Early career in Coahuila Already set on moving from the United States to Mexico, Hewetson encountered Stephen F. Austin in St. Louis, Missouri. Hewetson followed Austin to New Orleans and then was among those who accompanied Austin's first visit to Texas in 1821. Hewetson parted ways with Austin at San Antonio de Béxar and continued further on into Mexico, eventually settling at Saltillo and Monclova in Coahuila.
