Hervé Le Meur
Keltia Musique is a French independent record label and distribution company specializing in Celtic music. It was founded in 1978 in Quimper, Brittany, by Hervé Le Meur. History The company was founded by Hervé Le Meur, co-founder of Bagad Kemper and Bodadeg ar Sonerion (B.A.S.), who died in 1996. Le Meur sold Celtic music records and bagad instruments in his basement, apart from his other activities and his work as an accountant. Customers that visited the basement store include Alan Stivell. He later moved to the historic city center of Quimper in order to share his passion and make it known to the public. The store in Quimper was opened in 1978, and Le Meur also began producing records under the Keltia Musique label at this time. The first records produced were by the Bagad Kemper. The Silencers (band)
The Silencers are a Scottish rock band formed in London in 1986 by Jimme O'Neill and Cha Burns, two ex-members of the post-punk outfit Fingerprintz. Their music is characterised by a melodic blend of pop, folk and traditional Celtic influences. Often compared to Scottish bands with a similar sound like Big Country, Del Amitri and The Proclaimers, The Silencers have distinguished themselves with their eclectic sounds, prolific output and continued career. The Celtic Social Club
The Celtic Social Club is a musical band formed in 2013 and led by Manu Masko. The band is formed by a group of Bretons and Scots musicians, members of The Silencers, Red Cardell and Ronan Le Bars Group with guests related to the world Celtic, inspired by their elders of the Buena Vista Social Club and the New Orleans Social Club which aims to popularise Celtic music by opening it to current music. The music of The Celtic Social Club is a contemporary adaptation of traditional Celtic tunes performed by a group of seven musicians and guests chosen for their diverse backgrounds such as rock, folk, blues, reggae or hip hop. Red Cardell
Red Cardell is a Breton rock band that mixes Breton music with rock, folk, blues, world music and chanson réaliste. The group was formed in 1992 by Jean-Pierre Riou (vocals, guitars), Jean-Michel Moal (accordion) and Ian Proërer (drums). With the departure of the latter in 2001, Manu Masko became the drummer. He left in 2015. In 2011, the band added Mathieu Péquériau (harmonica, washboard) as a new member, some months before Jean-Michel Moal had to take a break from the group due to health problems. He returned in 2015. The Texas Campfire Tapes
''The Texas Campfire Tapes'' is the first album by American singer and songwriter Michelle Shocked. The album was on a Sony Walkman during an impromptu set performed by Shocked around the eponymous campfire at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas; the recording was made by Pete Lawrence, founder of the Cooking Vinyl label, on his first visit to the USA. It was then released by Cooking Vinyl in 1986 and Shocked moved over to Europe to support and promote the album, which was subsequently released by Mercury Records. The album reached the top spot on the British independent record chart. It was remastered and reissued in 2003 as a two-CD set called ''Texas Campfire Takes'' by Shocked's own label, Mighty Sound. Another version of "Fogtown" appears as a "hidden track" on Shocked's breakthrough album ''Short Sharp Shocked'' (1988), where she is backed by the hardcore punk band MDC.
