Herston Busway Station
Herston busway station is located in Brisbane, Australia serving the suburb of Herston. It opened on 14 December 2005 as RCH Herston on an existing section of the Inner Northern Busway. It was the northernmost station until the busway was extended to RBWH on 3 August 2009. The design of the station is very similar to QUT Kelvin Grove station and features golf ball protection screens due to the close proximity to Victoria Park Golf Course. The station was renamed on 29 November 2014 from RCH Herston, with the RCH dropped after the Royal Children's Hospital closed and was relocated to the Queensland Children's Hospital in South Brisbane. Herston is an inner suburb of the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Herston had a population of 2,215 people. Geography Herston is located by car north of the Brisbane GPO. The area of Herston includes the Herston Health Precinct on its eastern side. This includes the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and the ''Herston Quarter'' which is a development site to replace the former Royal Children's Hospital which moved to another site in 2014. Herston also includes the Ballymore Stadium Rugby Union venue in the northwest and Victoria Park on the southern side of Herston Road. The park includes the Victoria Park golf course and the heritage-listed former Victoria Park Golf Clubhouse built in 1931. Northern Busway, Brisbane
The Northern Busway is a bus-only road running north from the Brisbane central business district to the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital in Queensland, Australia. The first section of the busway opened on 23 February 2004 with one station at QUT Kelvin Grove. In December 2005, Normanby and Herston stations opened. Go Card
The ''go'' card is an electronic smartcard ticketing system developed by Cubic Corporation, which is currently used on the TransLink public transport network in South East Queensland. To use the ''go'' card, users hold the card less than 10 cm away from the reader to "touch on" before starting a journey, and must do the same to "touch off" the service at the end of the journey. The cost of each journey is deducted from the ''go'' card balance. The Queensland Government awarded the $134 million contract to design, build, operate and maintain the ''go'' card system to Cubic Corporation in July 2003. RBWH busway station is located in Brisbane, Australia serving the suburb of Herston and Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital from which its name is an acronym of. It opened on 3 August 2009 when the Northern Busway was extended from Herston. The station has two platforms which can be accessed via an elevated concourse located below the platforms, while stairs and elevators also give passengers access to ground level just below the concourse. Victoria Park Golf Clubhouse
The Victoria Park Golf Clubhouse is a heritage-listed former club house at 309 Herston Road, Herston, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Reyburn Jameson and built in 1931 and extended in 1939 and 1948. It is also known as the Pink Palace, after a nightclub which operated out of the building in the late 1970s and 1980s.
