Herrliberg-Feldmeilen is a railway station in Switzerland, situated near to the banks of Lake Zurich. The station is located adjacent to the village of Feldmeilen in the municipality of Meilen but, as its name suggests, also serves the adjacent municipality of Herrliberg. Meilen
Meilen is a municipality in the district of Meilen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. History Archaeological finds in Meilen date back more than 4,000 years. In January 1854 the level of lake Zürich was particularly low and the locals took the chance to reclaim some land. During this undertaking prehistoric objects from the Pfyn, Horgen and early Bronze Age cultures were unearthed providing clear evidence of early settlement. The locals also unearthed coins from Roman times (1st to 3rd century AD). One of the Roman roads connected ''Turicum'' (Zürich) with places up to ''Chur'' and passed by Meilen. Many findings were discovered during more recent road construction. Parts of Meilen were possessions of monasteries, including the monastery of ''St. Gallen'', the ones of ''Einsiedeln'' and ''Säckingen'', or the more local ''Grossmünster'' of Zürich. Regensdorf-Watt is a railway station in Switzerland, situated in the municipality of Regensdorf. The station is located between the towns of Regensdorf and Watt on the Wettingen-Effretikon railway line (Furttal line). Services The station is a stop on the Zurich S-Bahn system. Meilen Railway Station
Meilen is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Zürich, situated in the municipality of Meilen. The station is located on the Lake Zürich right bank railway line. History The station was opened in 1893, at the same time as the Lake Zürich right bank line. In 1903, Meilen station became the interchange point with the Wetzikon-Meilen-Bahn (WMB), a newly built metre gauge electric tramway that served the Zürcher Oberland area inland from the lake. The WMB originally ran beyond Meilen station, to terminate at the lakeside, but this section closed in 1931 leaving the station as the line's terminus. The WMB closed in 1950.
