Heroic Film Company
Founded in 2000, Heroic Television is a television production and development company consisting of John May and Suzanne Bolch. The company produces children's television series for live action, animation and all the in between. Their shows have aired on YTV, Family Channel, ABC3, CBC, BBC Kids and the Disney Channel in Canada; and dozens of others around the world. This company was previously Heroic Film Company, in 2000, by John May, Karen Lee Hall and Suzanne Bolch. The first production was the award winning sitcom Our Hero. The Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) is a Canadian labour union representing more than 5,500 professionals from 48 different occupations in the Canadian film and television industry. Founded in 1962, the DGC represents directors, editors, assistant directors, location managers, production assistants and others. The "DGC" has district councils in the following provinces; British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador and the Atlantic District Council (representing New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island). Treehouse TV
Treehouse TV is a Canadian English-language specialty channel for preschoolers aged 2 to 5 that was launched in 1997. Its name comes from YTV's former preschool block, " The Treehouse". The channel is owned by YTV Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment. Development of a separate channel started when YTV aired preschool shows as part of its weekday morning lineup. This block of shows was given the name "The Treehouse" in 1994. On November 1, 1997, Treehouse TV launched as its own channel, airing preschool shows from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m. daily. Atomic Cartoons is a Canadian animation studio founded in 1999 by Trevor Bentley, Mauro Casalese, Olaf Miller, Adam Ronald, and Rob Davies. ''Captain Flamingo'' is an animated television series, which chronicles the adventures of ''Milo Powell'', whose alter-ego is ''Captain Flamingo''.
