Hermannia
''Hermannia'' is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It comprises at least 65 species with many more species as yet unresolved. The genus commemorates Prof. Paul Hermann (1646-1695), a German professor of botany at Leyden and one of the first collectors to visit the Cape. The genus has a large number of species, each with very limited distribution, but they are generally common and not threatened, with little interest shown in them for horticulture or medicine. Their distribution ranges across Southern Africa, the vast majority of species being endemic. They are also found in Madagascar and in tropical East Africa to North East Africa and Arabia. A single species, ''Hermannia tigrensis'', is found in western, southern and North-East Africa. Three species are found in northern Mexico and adjacent regions of the United States, one species in southern Mexico, and one in Australia. ''Hermannias greatest diversity is found in the Western and Northern Cape, ...

Melochia
''Melochia'' is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It comprises 54 species from the tropical and subtropical regions of the world, ranging from India eastwards through Malesia and the Pacific Islands to the Americas and the Caribbean. Some taxonomy books have placed genus ''Melochia'' in family ''Sterculiaceae,'' but ''Sterculiaceae'' is now generally considered obsolete as a taxonomic class. The name "Melochia" comes from the Arabic name Mulukhiyah which in Arabic means mallow plants of the genus ''Corchorus'' (including ''Corchorus olitorius'') which are cultivated as vegetables in Egypt (and elsewhere). The take-up of this Arabic ''Molokheya'' as a label for the ''Melochia'' mallow plants began with the Latin botanist Prospero Alpini (died 1617), who spent several years in Egypt in the 1580s, and Alpini's name was soon adopted by the botanists Johann Bauhin (died 1613), Caspar Bauhin (died 1624), and Johann Vesling Johann Vesling (Latin: Veslingi ...

Commersonia
''Commersonia'' is a genus of twenty-five species of flowering plants in the family Malvaceae. Plants in this genus are shrubs or trees, occurring from Indochina to Australia and have stems, leaves and flowers covered with star-like hairs. The leaves are simple, often with irregularly-toothed edges, the flowers bisexual with five sepals, five petals and five stamens and the fruit a capsule with five valves. The genus underwent a revision in 2011 and some species were separated from ''Commersonia'', others were added from ''Rulingia''. Taxonomy The genus ''Coommersonia'' was first formally described in 1775 by Johann Reinhold Forster and his son Georg Forster in the book ''Characteres generum plantarum'' and the first species they described was ''Commersonia echinata'', now known as ''Commersonia bartramia''. A revision of the genus in 2011 added 3 newly described species, as well as 14 species previously included in '' Rulingia'', and transferred a number of species to the newly ...

''Guichenotia'' is a genus of about 16 species of flowering plants that are endemic to the south west of Western Australia. The genus was first formally described in 1821 by Jaques Étienne Gay in '' Mémoires du Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle''. The first species Gay described was ''Guichenotia ledifolia''. The genus name honours Antoine Guichenot, gardener's boy on the 1801–1803 French scientific voyage to Australia under Nicolas Baudin. Theobroma Grandiflorum
''Theobroma grandiflorum'', commonly known as cupuaçu, also spelled cupuassu, cupuazú, cupu assu, or copoazu, is a tropical rainforest tree related to cacao. Native and common throughout the Amazon basin, it is naturally cultivated in the jungles of north of Brazil, with the largest production in Pará, Amazonas and Amapá, Colombia, Bolivia and Peru. The pulp of the cupuaçu fruit is consumed throughout Central and South America, especially in the northern states of Brazil, and is used to make ice creams, snack bars, and other products. Description Cupuaçu trees usually range from in height, though some can reach . They have brown bark, and the leaves range from long and across, with 9 or 10 pairs of veins. As they mature, the leaves change from pink-tinted to green, and eventually they begin bearing fruit. Flowers of cupuaçu are structurally complex, and require pollination from biotic vectors. The majority of cupuaçu trees are self-incompatible, which can res ...
