Hermann Bausinger
Hermann Bausinger (17 September 1926 – 24 November 2021) was a German cultural scientist. He was professor and head of the Ludwig Uhland Institute for empirical cultural science at the University of Tübingen from 1960 to 1992. The institute has focused on the culture of everyday life, the history of traditions, and the research of narration patterns and dialects. His history of literature from Swabia from the 18th century to the present was published for his 90th birthday. Early life Born in Aalen, the son of a bank director (''Bankvorstand''), he was drafted into the Wehrmacht at age 17, and subsequently became a prisoner-of-war. Aalen () is a former Free Imperial City located in the eastern part of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, about east of Stuttgart and north of Ulm. Justinus Kerner
Justinus Andreas Christian Kerner (18 September 1786, in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany – 21 February 1862, in Weinsberg, Baden-Württemberg) was a German poet, practicing physician, and medical writer. He gave the first detailed description of botulism. Life He was born at Ludwigsburg in Württemberg. After attending the classical schools of Ludwigsburg and Maulbronn, he was apprenticed in a cloth factory, but, in 1804, owing to the good services of Professor Karl Philipp Conz, was able to enter the University of Tübingen. He studied medicine but also had time for literary pursuits in the company of Ludwig Uhland, Gustav Schwab and others. He took his doctor's degree in 1808, spent some time travelling, and then settled as a practising physician in Wildbad. Muhterem Aras (born 2 January 1966 in Elmaağaç in Bingöl, Turkey) is a German politician of the Alliance '90/The Greens party. Professor Emeritus Jürgen Kocka (born 19 April 1941 in Haindorf, Sudetenland) is a German historian. A university professor and former president of the Social Science Research Center Berlin (2001–2007), Kocka is a major figure in the new Social History, especially as represented by the Bielefeld School. He has focused his research on the history of employees in large German and American businesses, and on the history of European bourgeoisie. Inspired by the methods of Ernest Labrousse, he attempts to analyze social processes of German society from the perspective of modernisation, industrialization, and the creation of modern Europe. Anna Katharina Hahn is a German author. Life and works Anna Katharina Hahn was born in Ruit (Ostfildern), a small town short distance to the south-east of Stuttgart. She attended secondary school in nearby Stuttgart. Hahn won her first literary prize while still at school, coming first in a short story competition organised by the city authorities in 1988. On leaving school she enrolled at the Hamburg University where in 1995 she gained a "Magister degree" in German studies, English studies, and European Ethnology and Folklore.
