The Hermann-Löns-Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Paderborn, Germany located in the area Schloß Neuhaus and was opened in 1957. It had a capacity of up to 12,000 and was the home stadium of SC Paderborn 07 football club up until 2008 when it was replaced by the Benteler-Arena. Since 2008 it has been used as the home stadium for American football team Paderborn Dolphins. It is also used by TSV Schloss Neuhaus for its offices and as one of its sports venues. Benteler-Arena
The Home Deluxe Arena is a multi-use stadium in Paderborn, Germany, that was built between July 2005 and July 2008, as a replacement for the Hermann-Löns-Stadion. The opening match between SC Paderborn and Borussia Dortmund (1–2) was attended by 15,000 spectators, the stadium's full capacity. In the season 2018–19, the stadium held an average of 11,508 spectators who had attended the matches of SC Paderborn in the 2. Bundesliga. History Initial planning for a new stadium for SC Paderborn date back to 2001 when it became clearer that the previous special license for the Hermann-Löns-Stadion as a regular football stadium would soon terminate. The Paderborn Dolphins are an American football team from Paderborn, Germany. The club's greatest success has been promotion, in 1997, to the American football Bundesliga, now the German Football League, where it played for two seasons until 1999. Hermann Löns (29 August 1866 – 26 September 1914) was a German journalist and writer. He is most famous as "The Poet of the Heath" for his novels and poems celebrating the people and landscape of the North German moors, particularly the Lüneburg Heath in Lower Saxony. Löns is well known in Germany for his famous folksongs. He was also a hunter, natural historian and conservationist. Despite being well over the normal recruitment age, Löns enlisted and was killed in World War I and his purported remains were later used by the German government for celebratory purposes. Life and work Hermann Löns was born on 29 August 1866 in Kulm (now Chełmno, Poland) in West Prussia. He was one of twelve siblings, of whom five died early.
