Herman Welker
Herman Orville Welker (December 11, 1906 – October 30, 1957) was an American politician from the state of Idaho. He was a member of the Idaho Republican Party and served one term in the United States Senate, from 1951 to 1957. Early years Born in Cambridge, Idaho, Welker was the youngest of seven children of John Thornton and Anna Zella Shepherd Welker, who had moved from North Carolina and started a potato farm. He was the grandson of Rev. George W. Welker of North Carolina. He attended grade school in Cambridge and high school in Weiser, Idaho, Weiser. After graduation from Weiser High School in 1924, Welker went north to Moscow, Idaho, Moscow to attend the University of Idaho, where he started off in a general studies program and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternities and sororities in North America, fraternity. David Worth Clark
David Worth Clark, aka D. Worth Clark (April 2, 1902June 19, 1955), was a Democratic congressman and United States Senator from Idaho, its first U.S. Senator born in the state. Early years Clark was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho and attended public schools there. He attended Columbia University in Portland, Oregon, and the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1922. Clark graduated from Harvard Law School in 1925 and was admitted to the bar that year. He commenced practice in Idaho at Pocatello, and was the state's assistant attorney general from 1933 to 1935. Idaho's 2nd congressional district is one of two congressional districts in the U.S. state of Idaho, in the eastern portion of the state. Beginning with the 2012 election, the district expanded westward and now includes most of Boise, the state capital and largest city.
