George Herbig
George Howard Herbig (January 2, 1920 – October 12, 2013) was an American astronomer at the University of Hawaii Institute for Astronomy. He is perhaps best known for the discovery of Herbig–Haro objects. Background Born in 1920 in Wheeling, West Virginia, Herbig received his Ph.D in 1948 at the University of California, Berkeley; his dissertation is titled ''A Study of Variable Stars in Nebulosity''. Career His specialty was stars at an early stage of evolution (a class of intermediate mass pre–main sequence stars are named Herbig Ae/Be stars after him) and the interstellar medium. He was perhaps best known for his discovery, with Guillermo Haro, of the Herbig–Haro objects; bright patches of nebulosity excited by bipolar outflow from a star being born. Herbig also made prominent contributions to the field of diffuse interstellar band (DIB) research, especially through a series of nine articles published between 1963 and 1995 entitled "The diffuse interstellar bands." ...

Günther Herbig
Günther Herbig (born 30 November 1931) is a German conductor. Born in Ústí nad Labem, Czechoslovakia, Herbig studied conducting at the Franz Liszt Academy in Weimar in 1951 (then in East Germany) with Hermann Abendroth. He later was a student of Hermann Scherchen, Arvids Jansons, and Herbert von Karajan. After completing his studies, he became ''Kapellmeister'' at the Deutsches Nationaltheater and Staatskapelle Weimar in 1956. He subsequently held operatic posts in Erfurt and Potsdam. From 1972 to 1977, he was chief conductor of the Dresden Philharmonic. He was chief conductor of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra from 1977 to 1983. After a dispute with the DDR Politburo, Herbig left the GDR and emigrated to the United States. In North America, Herbig was music director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra from 1984 to 1990. Nate Herbig
Nathaniel William Herbig (born July 10, 1998) is an American football offensive guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Stanford and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2019. Early life and high school Herbig was born in Lihue, Hawaii and originally grew up in Kalaheo, Hawaii before moving from Kauai to Oahu after his freshman year of high school so that he could attend Saint Louis School in Honolulu. He was named first-team All-State as a senior. Herbig committed to play college football at Stanford after his junior year, but de-committed and re-opened his recruitment shortly after the end of his senior season. Nicholas Herbig (born November 21, 2001) is an American football linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wisconsin. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Steelers. Early life Herbig is from Kauai, Hawaii. Herbig attended the Saint Louis School in Oahu, Hawaii and committed to play college football at the University of Wisconsin . Wilhelm Herbig
Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Herbig (22 April 1788, Potsdam - 5 July 1861, Berlin) was a German painter and art professor. Life and work His father, Friedrich Herbig (1754–1832), was a cellist who played in a chamber ensemble. His brother, , would become a publisher. He initially studied with Christoph Franz Hillner (1745–1812), a painter of portraits and religious scenes. Most of his art lessons were, however, provided by his friend, Carl Kolbe, who had begun his artistic training while still a young boy. He volunteered as a Jäger in the Napoleonic Wars, and became known for the battle scenes he created. At the Battle of Dresden in 1813, he fell ill and was taken to Prague.
