Herbert R. Brown
Herbert Russell Brown (born September 27, 1931) is an American lawyer and author from the state of Ohio who sat on the Ohio Supreme Court for six years, then devoted his time to writing fiction. Biography Herbert Russell Brown was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 27, 1931, to Thomas Newton and Irene Hankinson Brown. He graduated from Denison University in 1953 with a bachelor's degree, and from the University of Michigan Law School in 1956, where he was Phi Alpha Delta and served on the Law Review 1955–1956. Brown worked as associate attorney for a short time at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease before joining the military. He served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps, United States Army 1957–1959, entering as a first lieutenant and leaving as a captain. He then returned to Vorys in 1960, became partner in 1965, and left the firm in 1982 to devote time to writing. Brown ran for the 58th district of the Ohio House of Representatives, but was defeated. In 1851, the number of judges was increased to five. In 1892, the number of judges was increased to six. Ohio House Of Representatives
The Ohio House of Representatives is the lower house of the Ohio General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Ohio; the other house of the bicameral legislature being the Ohio Senate. The House of Representatives first met in Chillicothe on March 3, 1803, under the later superseded state constitution of that year. In 1816, the capital was moved to Columbus, where it is located today. Members are limited to four successive two-year elected terms (terms are considered successive if they are separated by less than four years). Time served by appointment to fill out another representative's uncompleted term does not count against the term limit. There are 99 members in the house, elected from single-member districts. The Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) is a voluntary bar association for the state of Ohio. History OSBA was founded on March 6, 1880 when the Cleveland Bar Association issued a call other Ohio local bar associations to meet at Case Hall in Cleveland. More than 400 lawyers met on July 8 to form the Association; Rufus P. Ranney was chosen as its first president. Today, membership includes almost 70 percent of all Ohio law practitioners. With the addition of paralegals, law students and other associate members, total membership is about 31,000. The Judge Advocate General's Corps of the United States Army, also known as the U.S. Army JAG Corps, is the legal arm of the United States Army.
