"Her Man" is a song written by Kent Robbins. Originally recorded by American country music artist Waylon Jennings on his 1990 album ''The Eagle'', it was later covered in 1996 by Gary Allan on his debut album '' Used Heart for Sale''. Allan's version was released in August 1996 as his debut single and as the album's first. His rendition peaked at number 7 on the US country singles charts and number 9 in Canada. Gary Allan Herzberg (born December 5, 1967) is an American country music singer. Signed to Decca Records in 1996, Allan made his country music debut with the release of his single " Her Man", the lead-off to his gold-certified debut album '' Used Heart for Sale'', which was released in 1996 on Decca. His second album, ''It Would Be You'', followed in 1998. Allan's third album, ''Smoke Rings in the Dark'', was his first one for MCA Nashville (to which he has been signed ever since) and his first platinum album. ''The Eagle'' is a studio album by American country music artist Waylon Jennings, released on Epic Records in 1990. It was the first of his two solo albums on the label, which he joined after a two-year stay at MCA. This was also the last new Waylon Jennings album to be made available on LP; commercially in Europe, and only through the Columbia House record club in the US. The selections themselves are a mixture of fast-paced songs and slower ballads. "Wrong", a humorous track about a relationship that turned awry, was Jennings' final top ten country hit, reaching #5 on the charts. The album also yielded the minor hits "What Bothers Me Most". The album has been certified gold by the RIAA. It produced four singles on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs chart with " Her Man", "Living in a House Full of Love", "From Where I'm Sitting", and "Forever and a Day". Waylon Jennings
Waylon Jennings (June 15, 1937 – February 13, 2002) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He pioneered the Outlaw Movement in country music. Jennings started playing guitar at the age of eight and performed at age fourteen on KVOW radio, after which he formed his first band, The Texas Longhorns. Jennings left high school at age sixteen, determined to become a musician, and worked as a performer and DJ on KVOW, KDAV, KYTI, KLLL, in Coolidge, Arizona, and Phoenix. In 1958, Buddy Holly arranged Jennings's first recording session, and hired him to play bass. Jennings gave up his seat on the ill-fated flight in 1959 that crashed and killed Holly, J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson and Ritchie Valens. Jennings then formed a rockabilly club band, The Waylors, which became the house band at "JD's", a club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
