Henselian Ring
In mathematics, a Henselian ring (or Hensel ring) is a local ring in which Hensel's lemma holds. They were introduced by , who named them after Kurt Hensel. Azumaya originally allowed Henselian rings to be non-commutative, but most authors now restrict them to be commutative. Some standard references for Hensel rings are , , and . Definitions In this article rings will be assumed to be commutative, though there is also a theory of non-commutative Henselian rings. * A local ring ''R'' with maximal ideal ''m'' is called Henselian if Hensel's lemma holds. This means that if ''P'' is a monic polynomial in ''R'' 'x'' then any factorization of its image ''P'' in (''R''/''m'') 'x''into a product of coprime monic polynomials can be lifted to a factorization in ''R'' 'x'' * A local ring is Henselian if and only if every finite ring extension is a product of local rings. * A Henselian local ring is called strictly Henselian if its residue field is separably closed. * By abuse of termino ...

Hensel's Lemma
In mathematics, Hensel's lemma, also known as Hensel's lifting lemma, named after Kurt Hensel, is a result in modular arithmetic, stating that if a univariate polynomial has a simple root modulo a prime number , then this root can be ''lifted'' to a unique root modulo any higher power of . More generally, if a polynomial factors modulo into two coprime polynomials, this factorization can be lifted to a factorization modulo any higher power of (the case of roots corresponds to the case of degree for one of the factors). By passing to the "limit" (in fact this is an inverse limit) when the power of tends to infinity, it follows that a root or a factorization modulo can be lifted to a root or a factorization over the -adic integers. These results have been widely generalized, under the same name, to the case of polynomials over an arbitrary commutative ring, where is replaced by an ideal, and "coprime polynomials" means "polynomials that generate an ideal containing ". Hensel Formation
The Hensel Formation or Hensel Sand is a Mesozoic geologic formation in Texas. Fossil ornithopod tracks have been reported from the formation.Weishampel, et al. (2004). "Dinosaur distribution." Pp. 517-607. A stratigraphic column at the Mount Bonnell Fault location starts with the Lower Cretaceous Trinity Group overlain by the Edwards Group. Upper Cretaceous formations follow, starting with the Del Rio Clay, Buda Limestone, and then the Eagle Ford Group. Formations within the Trinity Group include the Hammett Formation, Cow Creek Formation, Hensel Formation, and Lower and Upper Glen Rose Formation. The Hammett and the lower portion of the Upper Glen Rose act as confining units (or aquitard) for the Middle Trinity Aquifer.
