Henry W. Sorge
Henry W. Sorge (March 18, 1852 – March 20, 1921) was an American farmer and politician. Born in thd Kingdom of Hanover, Sorge emigrated to the United States, in 1868, with an older brother. He settled in the town of Reedsburg, Sauk County, Wisconsin. Sorge was a farmer. He served on the Reedsburg Town Board and on the Sauk County Board of Supervisors. Sorge also served on the school board and was the board treasurer. Kingdom Of Hanover
The Kingdom of Hanover (german: Königreich Hannover) was established in October 1814 by the Congress of Vienna, with the restoration of George III to his Hanoverian territories after the Napoleonic era. It succeeded the former Electorate of Hanover (known formally as the Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg), and joined 38 other sovereign states in the German Confederation in June 1815. The Town of Reedsburg is located in Sauk County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,236 at the 2000 census. The City of Reedsburg is located within the town, though it is politically independent. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 30.8 square miles (79.7 km2), of which, 30.8 square miles (79.6 km2) of it is land and 0.03% is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 1,236 people, 394 households, and 334 families residing in the town. The population density was 40.2 people per square mile (15.5/km2). Sauk County is a county in Wisconsin. It is named after a large village of the Sauk people. As of the 2020 census, the population was 65,763. Its county seat and largest city is Baraboo. The county was created in 1840 from Wisconsin Territory and organized in 1844. Sauk County comprises the Baraboo, WI Micropolitan Statistical Area and is included in the Madison metropolitan area. The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin.
