Sir Henry Vernon, KB, (1441–13 April 1515) was a Tudor-era English landowner, politician, and courtier. He was the Controller of the household of Arthur, Prince of Wales, eldest son of Henry VII of England and heir to the throne until his untimely death. Family Vernon was born into the prominent Vernon family of Cheshire and Derbyshire. His father, William Vernon, was Knight-Constable of England, Treasurer of Calais, and a Member of Parliament, while his grandfather Richard Vernon had been the Speaker of the House of Commons.Carrington, W. Henry Vernon (cricketer)
Henry Vernon (16 December 1828 – 19 February 1855) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Cambridge University, the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and other amateur teams between 1850 and 1854. His birthplace is not known, but he died at Tixover, Rutland. He was the eldest son of Henry Charles Vernon and grandson of Lt Gen Henry Charles Edward Vernon. Vernon's family owned Hilton Hall in Staffordshire. He was educated at Harrow School and at Trinity College, Cambridge. He was in the Harrow cricket eleven for five years from 1845 to 1849 as a middle-order batsman (sometimes an opener) and a bowler – he was 20 at the time of his fifth Eton v Harrow match. Neither his batting nor his bowling style is known. He made his first-class cricket debut while still at school by appearing in a match for the Gentlemen of England against a Gentlemen of Kent team in August 1848. Sir Henry Vernon, 1st Baronet
Sir Henry Vernon, 1st Baronet (1605–1676) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1660 and 1676. Vernon was the son of Sir Robert Vernon of Hodnet, Shropshire and his wife Mary Needham, daughter of Sir Robert Needham, of Shavington. In April 1641, Vernon was elected at a by-election as Member of Parliament for Andover in the Long Parliament. He voted against the attainder of Strafford, but was unseated on petition on 3 May 1642. He was appointed a commissioner for array by King Charles, but does not appear to have taken any part in the English Civil War and was therefore not disabled from sitting. In 1660, Vernon was elected MP for Shropshire in the Convention Parliament. He was created a baronet in 1660. Henry Vernon (April 1686 – 25 February 1719), of Sudbury, Derbyshire, was an English landowner and politician. Early life Vernon was born in April 1686 as the only surviving son of George Vernon (Derby MP), George Vernon (1635–1702), MP for Derby (UK Parliament constituency), Derby, and his third wife, Catherine Vernon. His father had previously been married to Margaret Oneley (daughter and heiress of Edward Oneley) and Dorothy Shirley (daughter of Sir Robert Shirley, 4th Baronet, of Staunton Harold Hall). His paternal grandparents were Sir Henry Vernon of Sudbury Hall, Derbyshire and Muriel Vernon (daughter of heiress of Sir George Vernon, Judge of Court of Common Pleas (England), Common Pleas).
