Henry S. Julian
Henry Saint Julian (July 23, 1862 – August 26, 1939) was a lawyer and politician from Missouri. He was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 1891 to 1895 and served as chief of police in Kansas City, Missouri. Early life Henry Saint Julian was born on July 23, 1862, in Frankfort, Kentucky. His father was a farmer. His brother was William Alexander Julian. He was related to George W. Julian. He attended public schools and graduated from the Kentucky Military Institute in 1881. Julian graduated with a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1884 and was admitted to the bar. Career After graduating, Julian moved back to Frankfort and practiced law for a year. Julian moved to Kansas City, Missouri in August 1885, to start a law practice. Julian was a Democrat. The Missouri House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 163 members, representing districts with an average size of 37,000 residents. House members are elected for two-year terms during general elections held in even-numbered years. Homer Stille Cummings (April 30, 1870 – September 10, 1956) was an American lawyer and politician who was the United States Attorney General from 1933 to 1939. He also was elected mayor of Stamford, Connecticut, three times before founding the legal firm of Cummings & Lockwood in 1909. He later served as chairman of Democratic National Committee between 1919 and 1920. Early life and career Cummings was born on April 30, 1870 and graduated from the Heathcote School in Buffalo, New York. He earned a Ph.B. degree from the Sheffield School of Yale University in 1891, and completed his degree at Yale Law School two years later. Practicing law in Stamford, he joined with Charles D. 7th Infantry Regiment (United States)
The 7th Infantry Regiment is an infantry regiment in the United States Army. In its 200-year history it has participated in 12 wars, been awarded 78 campaign streamers, and 14 unit decorations. The regiment has served in more campaigns than any other infantry unit in the United States Army. It is known as "The Cottonbalers" for its actions during the Battle of New Orleans, while under the command of Andrew Jackson, when soldiers of the 7th Infantry Regiment held positions behind a breastwork of cotton bales during the British attack.
