Henry Ringling North (November 12, 1909 – October 2, 1993) was an American businessman, as a circus proprietor who was the vice president, treasurer, director and operations chief, while his brother, John Ringling North, was the president and chairman of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, founded by their uncles. Biography He was born in Chicago and attended Yale University. North was awarded a Silver Star for his actions in the Navy during World War II where he served in the Office of Strategic Services. In the 1960s he became an Irish citizen. He was involved with two oil firms in Oklahoma. His first two marriages ended in divorce. Sir Henry North, 1st Baronet
Sir Henry North, 1st Baronet (c 1609 – 29 August 1671) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons variously between 1656 and 1671. North was the son of Sir Roger North of Mildenhall and his wife, Elizabeth Gilbert, daughter of Sir John Gilbert of Great Finborow, Suffolk. In 1656, North was elected Member of Parliament for Suffolk in the Second Protectorate Parliament. In 1660, North was elected MP for Suffolk in the Convention Parliament. He was created baronet of Mildenhall on 14 June 1660. He was re-elected MP for Suffolk in 1661 for the Cavalier Parliament and sat until his death in 1671. North married Sarah Rayney, daughter of John Rayney of West Malling, Kent. He was succeeded by his son Henry. Sir Henry North, 2nd Baronet
Sir Henry North, 2nd Baronet (c.1635 – 5 July 1695) was an English Tory politician. North was the son of Sir Henry North, 1st Baronet and Sarah Rayney. He was educated at King Edward VI School, Bury St Edmunds and St John's College, Cambridge. On 29 August 1671 he succeeded to his father's baronetcy. Between 1678 and 1688, North was a Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk. Suffolk was a county constituency of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, which returned two Members of Parliament (MPs) to the House of Commons from 1290 until 1832, when it was split into two divisions.
