Henry Murphy (architect)
Henry Killam Murphy (August 19, 1877 – October 12, 1954) was an American architect noted for his design of educational establishments in the North-East of the United States, China and Japan. Early life and education Henry Killam Murphy was born in 1877 in New Haven, Connecticut, to parents Alice Button Killam and John Murphy. Murphy attended the Hopkins School, graduating in 1895. He then went on to study at Yale University graduating in 1899 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. After a year spent at the Yale Graduate School preparing for a career as an architect, Murphy was first employed in this capacity in the New York City offices of Tracey and Startwout in 1900. Henry Murphy (field Hockey)
Henry Lawson Murphy (12 December 1882 – 5 January 1942) was an Irish field hockey player. He played for, amongst others, Three Rock Rovers and Ireland. Together with fellow Rovers players, Richard Gregg and Charles Power, he was a member of the Ireland team that won the silver medal at the 1908 London Olympics. Henry Murphy (politician)
Henry Joseph Murphy (9 February 1921 – 26 November 2006) was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in Moncton, New Brunswick and became a barrister by career after attending the law program at the University of New Brunswick. He was first elected at the Westmorland riding in the 1953 general election. Murphy was re-elected for a second term in 1957 then defeated in the 1958 election by William Creaghan of the Progressive Conservative party. Henry George Murphy, aka H. G. Murphy (1884 in Birchington, Kent – 1939) was an English art-deco silversmith. Career Murphy was apprenticed to Henry Wilson in 1899. At age 14 he entered the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London. In July 1912 he was employed by Emil Lettre in Berlin. He found the work unfulfilling and left after six weeks. The same year he opened his own workshop in London. During World War I he enlisted in the Royal Navy Air Service. Henry Murphy (19 May 1912, in Ardpatrick – 8 October 1973, in Limerick) was an Irish Roman Catholic bishop. Murphy was educated at St Munchin's College and St Patrick's College, Maynooth. He was ordained priest on 21 June 1936. He received the degree of Doctor of Divinity A Doctor of Divinity (D.D. or DDiv; la, Doctor Divinitatis) is the holder of an advanced academic degree in divinity.
