Henry Brockholst Livingston
Henry Brockholst Livingston (November 25, 1757 – March 18, 1823) was an American Revolutionary War officer, a justice of the New York Court of Appeals and eventually an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Early life Livingston was born in New York City in 1757 to Susanna French (d. 1789) and William Livingston (1723–1790). He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University) in 1774. Career Livingston inherited the family estate in New Jersey, Liberty Hall (the modern-day site of Kean University), and retained it until 1798. During the American Revolutionary War, he was a lieutenant colonel of the New York Line, serving on the staff of General Philip Schuyler from 1775 to 1777 and as an '' aide-de-camp'' to then-Major General Benedict Arnold at the Battle of Saratoga. Henry Beekman Livingston Jr. (October 3, 1854 – September 8, 1931) was an American banker, sportsman, and clubman who was prominent in New York society during the Gilded Age. Early life Livingston was born at 18 Washington Square North in New York City on October 3, 1854. He was the son of Henry Beekman Livingston Sr. (1818–1861) and Mary Lawrence (née Livingston) Livingston (1821–1883). His siblings included Walter L. Livingston and Margaret Lewis Livingston ("one of the five most beautiful debutantes of her time in society"), who married John Lawrence Lee. His father, who inherited the most valuable share of his grandmother's estate, 68-72 Leonard Street, went into business as Foster & Livingston, which sold Indian shawls among other goods. Henry Livingstone
Henry Gillies Livingstone (12 September 1890 – 12 February 1959) was a New Zealand politician from Christchurch. He was appointed a member of the New Zealand Legislative Council on 22 June 1950. Biography Born on 12 September 1890, Livingstone was the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Livingstone. He was active in the Reform Party and was an early advocate for uniting non-Labour parties into a single party. Livingstone was appointed as a member of the "suicide squad" nominated by the First National Government in 1950 to vote for the abolition of the Council. Most of the new members (like Livingstone) were appointed on 22 June 1950, and served until 31 December 1950 when the Council was abolished. In 1935, he was awarded the King George V Silver Jubilee Medal.
