Sir Henry Johnson, 1st Baronet
Major-General (United Kingdom), Major-General Sir Henry Johnson, 1st Baronet, (1 January 1748 – 18 March 1835) was an Anglo-Irish general in the British Army. Life He was the second son of Allen Johnson of Kilternan, County Dublin, and his wife Olivia, daughter of John Walsh of Ballykilcavan, County Laois, Queen's County; his elder brother, John Allen Johnson-Walsh, was created Johnson-Walsh Baronets, a baronet in 1775. He was appointed ensign (rank), ensign on 19 February 1761 in the 28th Regiment of Foot, 28th foot, in which he became lieutenant in 1762, and captain (British Army), captain in 1763, and is stated to have served with the regiment (probably in the West Indies) during that time. John became major in the 28th in 1775, went to North America, and was posted by William Howe, 5th Viscount Howe, Sir William Howe to one of the provisional battalions of light infantry, which he commanded in the American Revolutionary War campaigns of 1776–8. Henry Johnson (Kenosha Politician)
Henry Johnson (September 3, 1794February 27, 1868) was an American farmer, Republican politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He was instrumental in the founding of the Wisconsin State Agricultural Society, and served two terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing eastern Kenosha County. Earlier in his life, he was a member of the New York State Legislature. Biography Johnson was born in Williamstown, Vermont, in 1794 and moved to Niagara County, New York in 1810, where he became established and started a family. By 1821 Johnson had become a prominent citizen in the newly formed Erie County, New York and was elected on the Whig Party ticket to the New York State Assembly for the 1839 session. The family relocated to the Wisconsin Territory in 1844 and settled on a farm in the town of Pike (now the village of Somers in Kenosha County). Henry John Johnson
Henry John Johnson, usually known as Harry (10 April 1826 — 31 December 1884) was an English landscape and water colour painter. Life Johnson was born in Birmingham, where he studied under Samuel Lines. He was then in London as a studio pupil of William James Müller. With Müller he made an extended visit in 1843 to Lycia, where Charles Fellows was carrying out an excavation. The watercolours of Turkey that Müller painted during this period were an important influence on him. Johnson travelled in southern Europe, northern Africa and Asia Minor. He painted oil - and watercolour pictures (ruins of Sardis, the Acropolis in Athens, Temple of Athena in Aegina). Sir Henry Johnson (c. 1623–1683) was an English shipbuilder and politician who sat in the English House of Commons, House of Commons in 1679. Henry Johnson (born January 28, 1954) is an American jazz guitarist from Chicago. Career Johnson was born in Chicago on January 28, 1954, and grew up in Memphis. He started playing the guitar at the age of 12, teaching himself. He played various styles of music until hearing Wes Montgomery ignited an interest in jazz. He entered Indiana University in 1973. Johnson has worked with Hank Crawford, Freddie Hubbard, Ramsey Lewis, Norman Simmons, Jimmy Smith, Sonny Stitt, Stanley Turrentine, Joe Williams, and Nancy Wilson. Sir Henry Cecil Johnson (11 September 1906 – 13 March 1988), was Chairman of British Rail. Johnson astutely began the sale and development of surplus railway land and established the British Rail Property Board in 1970. The finances of British Railways improved under Johnson's chairmanship and when he left in 1971, British Rail had a surplus of £9.7 million. Henry Johnson (fl. 1730) was an Irish pirate active in the Caribbean. He shared captaincy with a Spaniard, Pedro Poleas. Johnson was best known thanks to an autobiography written by a sailor he captured and marooned. History Johnson and Poleas jointly commanded the Rhode Island-built 18-gun, 90-man sloop ''Two Brothers''. He was known as a ruthless and bloodthirsty pirate, said to be an excellent shot despite missing a hand: “though he has but one hand, he fires a piece very dexterously, laying the barrel upon his stump, and drawing the trigger with his right hand.” He was also said to keep loaded pistols with him, even when he slept, in case of surprise attack or to take his own life if capture was imminent. Henry Ward Johnson (May 21, 1906 – August 20, 1982) was a pitcher who played in Major League Baseball between the 1925 and 1939 seasons. Listed at , , Johnson batted and threw right-handed. He was born in Bradenton, Florida. Johnson entered the majors in 1925 with the New York Yankees, playing for them seven years (1925–26, 1928–32) before joining the Boston Red Sox (1933–35), Philadelphia Athletics (1936) and Cincinnati Reds (1939). He divided his playing time as a starter, middle reliever, and occasional closer during a career hampered by illness. His most productive years came with the Yankees, winning 14 games in 1928 and 1930 and 13 in 1931. But he developed a chronic bursitis that eventually ended his career. Henry Edward Johnson (19 November 1897 – 20 October 1962) was an English footballer who played as a forward in the 1920s for Southampton and Queens Park Rangers. Football career Johnson was born in Birmingham, and first came to prominence when playing for the British Army in 1919. He started his professional football career with Coventry City for whom he made only two first-team appearances, from where he was loaned to Darlaston of the Birmingham & District League. In April 1921, together with his Darlaston teammate John Cooper, he moved on a free transfer to the south coast to join Southampton, then playing in the Football League Third Division South. He made his first-team debut for the "Saints" on 10 December 1921, taking Len Andrews' place at Inside-right in a 1–0 victory against Bristol Rovers.
