Henry Hemming
Henry Hemming (born December 1979) is an English non-fiction author. In 2017 it was announced that his book, ''M: Maxwell Knight, MI5's Greatest Spymaster'', based on the life of Maxwell Knight, would be adapted for television by Mammoth Screen with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman attached as lead writer. In order to write the book about Knight, Hemming reviewed declassified MI5 files, interviewed former MI5 agents as well as some of Knight's family. Personal life Henry Hemming is married to the BBC radio presenter Helena Merriman. They have two children and live in London. Maxwell Knight
Charles Henry Maxwell Knight OBE, known as Maxwell Knight, (9 July 1900 – 27 January 1968) was a British spymaster, naturalist and broadcaster, reputedly a model for the James Bond character "M". He played major roles in surveillance of an early British Fascist party as well as the main Communist Party. Background Knight was the son of Hugh Coleraine Knight, a solicitor, and his wife, Ada Phyllis (née Hancock). He was christened in Holy Innocents Church, South Norwood on 3 August 1900. Matt Charman (born June 5, 1979) is a British screenwriter, playwright, and producer from Horsham, West Sussex. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for his 2015 film '' Bridge of Spies'', directed by Steven Spielberg and co-written with Joel and Ethan Coen. Charman started out writing for theatre, making a breakthrough as writer-in-residence at the National Theatre in London, where then-director Nicholas Hytner described Charman as having "a priceless nose for a story". John Hemming (explorer)
John Henry Hemming (born 1935) is a historian and explorer, expert on Incas and indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin. Early life and education Hemming was born in Vancouver on 5 January 1935. His father, Henry Harold Hemming, who had served in the First World War, foresaw the Second, and wanted him to be born in North America. So he sent John's mother, Alice Hemming, a journalist, on a cruise through the Panama Canal that ended in British Columbia. John and his sister Louisa were brought back to London when he was two months old. He was educated in the United Kingdom at Eton College, in Canada at McGill University, and read history at Oxford where he obtained a Doctor of Letters degree and became an honorary fellow of Magdalen College.
